Rhythm Tengoku (GBA)

Has anyone heard of the game Rhythm Tengoku?  I just found out about it myself, but it looks really sweet.

It's a rhythm game developed by the same team that made WarioWare.

Developed by the Made in Wario team, the game is a combination of over 40 rhythm-based mini-games that last 2~3 minutes each. Much like the Made in Wario game series, Rhythm Tengoku is played by a simple push of the button, will feature end level mini-bosses and it’ll be possible to acquire medals after clearing stages, which will get you some nifty rhythm toys. The game is said to be very strict about timing, and you’ll be told how much rhythm sense you have at the end of a song.
Check out the awesome gameplay video!

It will be released in Japan on August 3.  Think there's a chance it'll come out in the states?
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

GameSpy has a new preview.

This game looks awesome.  Unfortunately ...

Right now there's no plan to bring the game over to America, and honestly the chances of it making it here are slim-to-none; the DS is in full swing, and the last great release is probably going to be Final Fantasy IV. Still, there's hope that the game will somehow make it, if Nintendo is willing. Given the success of WarioWare, it's not out of the question, but it's looking unlikely right now.

The game was released in Japan last week.  Between August third and August sixth, it sold 37,473 copies, earning it a spot at number nine on the top ten games of the week.

GameVideos.com has an awesome eleven minute gameplay montage up.  I urge you to check it out.

Players might have to hit a baseball to the beat, or pluck hairs from an onion, or fling balls to penguins, or bounce a bunny off whale noses. Yeah, it gets that weird.
Haha.  This game is awesome.

Even with the language barrier, this is a highly recommended GBA import; the chances of it coming to the US are on the slim side due to its lack of familiar branding - there's no Wario to carry the franchise.
Looks like I may have to resort to importing it.  This saddens me.

You should consider getting a dupe account or 2, vudu. It would make talking to yourself so much more fun.

Oh, the game looks fun, yes.

I like it, but I'm a new-system whore and I've almost completely lost interest in anything that isn't for DS.  I know it's silly, but what are you going to do?  Cry about it?
That's my opinion, not yours.

WTF?  I finally get around to importing this game and Lik Sang doesn't seem to carry it (that, or I don't know how to use a search function).  Japan hates me.

But Lik Sang has free shipping.    Plus, I was going to try to get my hands on one of those $5 off coupons, so I'd only have to spend $35.

GoNintendo has a list of Japan’s top 100 portable salesfor April 1st through September 30th.

Guess who came in at #17?  That's right!  It's Rhythm Tengoku!

17. GBA Rhythm Tengoku - Nintendo - 172,710

It's the second highest GBA game (beaten only by the mighty Mother 3) and one of only seven GBA games to make the list.

Congrats to Rhythm Tengoku!
