Radio Free Nintendo - Episode 8
« on: July 11, 2006, 08:00:01 PM »
Super Smash Bros Wii Rumors, DEBUNKED! The Sovereign Nation of France, PWNED! Any sense of propriety remaining in RFN, REMOVED!

So, what're you doing later? I mean, like, not as a date or anything...

Radio Free Nintendo Logo

I'm reminded of an old joke about two ladies vacationing in the Catskills. One says, "The food here is terrible." To which the other replies, "Yes, and such small portions." Welcome to Radio Free Nintendo: we keep the portions small on purpose.

The Podcast is available in multiple formats, but LOOKOUT you may want to try the AAC version. If you play that mother in iTunes, you'll get fancy pictures and other shizz. Don't worry though: listening to the MP3 will not remove the snarky attitude or stupid jokes. If we cut those parts out, the Podcast would only be a minute long.

Episode 8: Viva la France!

AAC Format

MP3 Format

You can also listen to it on Odeo

powered by ODEO

This week's cast is mostly about dumb Super Smash Bros rumors. For the sake of clarity, here is a link to the original source. Don't worry, none of this stuff is going to happen. We also talk about why Nintendo would have possibly thought that sending President Bush a copy of Brain Age is not insulting, as well as discussing rumors of the upcoming notResident Evil game for Wii.

If you have any questions, complaints, compliments, or criticisms please send them to our podcast email address:

Or feel free to talkback to us in the talkback thread! Love you guys, no really, for real, I'm not lying, I love you. Too much.

Super Smash Bore is a total fan service and doesn't use the Wii mote.

Resident Evil...they better do a real Resident Evil, I don't care if it isn't part 5 (it's too much of a RE4 wanna be, and a lot of the excitement around it is directly linked to the graphics, something Wii won't have); in fact I want to see a return to the prerendered backgrounds, the scares, the 2D styled control, and nonlinear level design.  RE4 was fun but it wasn't Resident Evil.  I think a RE could work as a first person shooter, but I also don't have faith in anyone actually getting it right (they would make it too much a shooter before a Resident Evil).  What I wouldn't mind is a Rebirth style RE2 with the remote used for aiming or wielding a melee weapon in third person.

Something has really been bothering me.  Why does everyone seem to think that we don't know whether or not Zero Suit Samus is another character or instead a variation of of the same character a la Zelda/Sheik...

Quote

This isn't a pure character addition. Rather, under certain conditions, Samus will "remove" her Power Suit.

That seems to say to me that it is not another character doesn't it?

That's from the official site...

Why is the audio still not perfect? Creepy distortions it has.

Evan, that wasn't pointed just at you.  It seems a lot of people still don't believe that site...  It confuses me.

Blame Skype for the audio bugs. If one of our connections lags for a second (usually me), Skype catches up by playing things back faster (and thus garbling them).

Once Evan gets his Mac, we'll both be using iChat and the whole recording process should be easier.

****Phew, thank your mechanical stars, self. I thought my super-indiscreet robot disguise was failing me, fortunately I can continue to share my poorly formed robot opinions with the masses and blame it on mere "technical issues." Hahahah, if only they knew how technical I am. I mean for real, I'm a ROBOT! Hahahah, that's funny.

But no one will ever know just how funny I am. Everything I say is a little pearl sucked into the black void of human reality. Actually, being a secret robot is rather sad. Sigh.

I have to say "sigh" because as a robot I am not capable of actually sighing. I possess neither lungs nor true emotions that require sighing. At this complete lack of emotion, I once again say, sigh. Sigh.****

I reckon that every charater is going to have a Sheik/Zelda style charater swap outs. Shame to those who say Zelda sucks.

Did I say that Zelda sucks? I meant to say that only girls play as Zelda.

Ha.  I have been playing straight female characters only since the start of Street Fighter 2 and fighting games.

Smuggler's Run: Warzones is the source of my only abuse towards my dear 'Cube. Unlocking all the vehicles resulted in the single instance of controller tossing, which combined with the shorter cable, made for a fantastically rotational liftoff of the 'Cube. Damn you Rockstar San Diego. I only got to play it with two peeps including myself, so I guess I never experienced the franticalness.

I think I got the broken version of Smugglers Run. Them movies don't play. I was so wondering where the plot went. ATV FTW.

"Zebes" is pronounced ZEE-bess, according to this old-school Nintendo commercial.

The only thing dumber than pronouncing Zebes "ZEE-bess" is saying that Mother 1 and 2 suck.
