Looks good...

You're quite the researcher at finding these, Doonut, even if you do wear light red armor... (and I hope your name is indeed a reference to that...)

Thanks, I try to find stuff and share it with ya.

And no, my name is not a reference to "light red" armor wearing Donut. I've had this nickname for over 10 years now, you can blame a really drunk friend for that.

Ah, my bad, then.

At one point in Red vs. Blue, they called him "Double "o" Donut" and your name looked like it might have been a reference to that.

Holding it that way and translating it into onscreen camera movment doesn't make any sense.

As far as I have read, no one has played the game on Wii yet to give impressions about it.

These screens do not look bad at all, and with the Wii remote it could be a fun title. However, I'm really feeling the graphical gut-punch with this game. Why can't the hardware be more powerful? I would pay $300 for a Wii, easy, so long as it still came with two Wii Remotes and Two Chucks (Wii Sports would be nice too). I suppose I have to live with it. Mario and Metroid looked very good at E3. Although Metroid's environments and character models seemed only marginally improved, the draw distance in the outdoor areas was huge, and each room was twice as big as those in MP2 (which was a cramped game altogether).

I've shrugged off fanboyism long ago (I'm Nintendo centric only to save money), so buying another system to get the graphics goods isn't out of the question for me. And, I guess, Call of Duty isn't exactly a huge title for me personally to get excited about (plus the 360/PS3 screens in EGM looked good, but not great.) Still, I'm praying for a Wii game that really blows off our socks - if Mario's the one to do it, that's fine, but I'm hoping for more.

It is things like this and Prey that makes me wonder what people are seeing that I don't. The game looks quite attractive graphically and chances are it will run pretty smooth, I think gamers have become way too picky. The same logic applies to Prey (for PC) which I found to visually stunning yet there are individuals who were not that impressed with the graphics in that either. This is coming from someone who has a pretty powerful PC with a dual core athlon processor and a Geforce 7900GTX,

Well, devs continuously add more polygons, more bumps, more shadows... and they give us more plastic people and excessively shiny objects that apply last year's effects with more ease.  People are seeing the same techniques repeated, applied in the same way, in the same genre of games, and maybe it's overkill.

We don't get to feel any "leaps" if we're outpacing outselves with constant baby-steps.

ohhh....really nice screens....

I love how the smoke looks (which is what got my attention in the MP3 videos, better particles maybe?)

and if what they said in the 1UP interview is true, this game will be definetly worth buying ^^ (physically setting bombs with the Wiimote? I'm in!)

It would be quite awesome if the Wii version turns out to be the best overall!

It looks to be on it's way to being the best.  I hope they allow for inter-system multiplayer.  With setting a bomb and the like taking an "Average" amount of time on the other systems.

Yeah.  I don't know what it is about everybody and complaining about graphics.  It just seems that no matter how good they are since there on the Wii there not good enough.  I thought the screens look superb for almost all the Wii games.   This is no exception and from what the developers have said I might even pick this one up.

I've been in and out of the PGC forums and I think we should just be happy that the Wii is being supported with Call of Duty 3.  After the GCN generation of dismal third party help, the Wii is a refreshing step.  Let's not lose sight of that in the midst of getting picky over the graphics.  The awe over graphics for me personally lasts about a minute and then it is all about the gameplay.  Hopefully, the Wii-mote use is maximized.

I, for one, intend to do my duty as a vapid excessive american consumer and buy this game for the Wii at or near launch.

Is it slated for launch.  I wasn't really paying attention to the release date.

Considering it will be a PS3 launch title, yes, that's safe to assume.

I honestly was not too interested in Call of Duty 3 for the X-Box 360, but if Wiimotes are employed, count me in.

I'm actually continually amazed by the Wii's graphical capablities. That we're going from this to legitimate, ultra-high-quality videogames that use motion control, just astounds me.

edit: ...still, I suppose I do pine for Assassin's Creed and Metal Gear Solid 4 quality visuals from time to time. Ultimately, though, I think Nintendo's direction is the right one. It's not just about the price of the console... it's about the cost of development, too.

I still want to say that the Cube was rarely ever pushed the current generation.  I mean think about how good the PS2 looked when developers really dug deep.  Neither the X-Box or Cube got that sort of digging.  If it was up to PS2 snuff it didn't really need to go better.   I think we are going to see a MUCH bigger leap between first gen Wii games and 2nd gen Wii games then we did from First gen Cube games to almost last gen Cube games.  (SSBM broke the curve.)

The EGM article that broke the story said that the game will be a Wii launch title. The only details that were lacking are multiplayer. Hopefully we'll get those details soon.
