Some pretty interesting diagrams in this preview.

The control scheme looks pretty solid, but the screenshots make me sad. I was expecting at least Madden 07 for Xbox graphics...and they're not in 16:9. Hopefully these are VERY early screens, because it looks like a PS2 game... a first generation PS2 game.

Kicking looks hard, like shanking the ball will be really easy...

Good thing and a bad thing.

Good thing: For too long kicking has been too easy you press button twice and as long as ur close enough with good wind speed, balls goes in. Now when there's one second left in the game the crowd noise is making the controller rumble, and your nerves aren't helping either, the joy of making the kick will be increased sevenfold,  just as much as will be the feeling of inadequacy if you miss.

Bad thing: The computer doesn't have to do it. AI is still has an unfair advantage. I seriously think games like madden and fps should come with robots who play the game along side you making them have to actually do the button presses and controller movements in order to perfectly simulate playing someone else, even if you are a loser without friends and high speed internet access, or you just feel like playing the franchise mode.

Robots... that's it robots, perhaps not until the Nintendo Domination comes out. (Final name will be more akin to Nintendo Cooch)
Silly monkeys; give them thumbs they make a club and beat their brother down. How they survive so misguided is a mystery. Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability to lift an a eye to heaven conscious of his fleeting time here.

I spent a lot of time with this at E3 and was mightily impressed by it.  The passing and kicking (especially the kicking) are awesome.  The running game and defense was a little weird because of the new controller, and will take some time getting used to.  Even then, point-and-click to select a defender is wonderful.

Look out for my preview on the site soon.  I have a little bit of info on the game that I don't think many other sites do.

New Madden 07 Wii gameplay impression

sounds very promising
Quote

In the next play, we watched as Pittsburg quarterback Ben Roethlisbergr quieted the crowd, which is an action performed by waving the nunchuck and wand above your head before the snap. But these motions aren't limited to the offense, as we saw when a defender performed the same move in attempt to pump the crowd up.
~
The way it was explained to us is that the remote represents your hands or arms, while the nunchuck represents your body. For instance, if you want to throw a stiff arm to the right, you can flick the remote to the right. If you want to juke left, you can flick the nunchuck to the left. If you're trying to defend against a pass, you can quickly move both the nunchuck and the remote up above your head to make your defender jump up in the air for an interception. If you can't quite get the pick, you can simply swat at the ball by swatting the air with the remote.
~
You simply point at a player or group of players on the field, which brings up a menu that shows a list of button icons corresponding with the available plays. If you think the offense is going to run left, you can shift your linebackers left by pointing at any one of them and pressing left on the D pad.
~
Madden 07 for the Wii looks like it's shaping up to offer a different, but no less entertaining, game of football. It also looks like it will be a fun game to play, especially with two players on the same console flailing about as they scramble to break a tackle or lay out a receiver.

I will atleast convince a friend to not only buy a Wii but buy this game so that I can play it too.

I am looking forward to this.

Well, they sound simpler in one way: how the game divides up moves so that the wand controls your arm movements and the nunchaku controls your body movements. With Mario, for example, the wand controls both mario and a floating curser at the same time, which sounds a little confusing to me.

Not everyone is going to go as simple as Nintendo tends to and this is not a bad thing.  I can see Wandering's viewpoint on this.  I think if the controls seem intuitive even if they look complex on paper they can be quiet simple and effective.
