But the point of Zelda is not to just needlessly fight in an arena.
If Zelda was JUST a fighting game. Hell, if it was just a brawler with endless item and weapons fighting it would be a boring and non-magical game.
Zelda has always and will always be about exploring a fantasy world in real time. Fighting, puzzling, helping others in a quest to save Hyrule and to a less extent to save your Destiny...Princess Zelda.
Look at what happened when Nintendo tried to change the genre of Zelda we got the Wii Zapper with a Zelda FPS and target practice that was pretty irrelevant.
Nintendo already has a great fighter in Smash Bros. And that game was just released...we don't need to dilute Zelda with a fighting game. Instead, Nintendo would do better to help Lucas Arts develop Clone Wars into a fantastic 1to1 fighting game, which we all desperately want outta of that game...and would basically be Zelda Fighting.
I do want the new MotionPlus controller used with the new Zelda. I see it being used to help make the game more immersive in all aspects of game play.
1)Actually manipulating the environment puzzles, pulling chains, latches, and basically manipulating puzzles to make every puzzle feel new and unique.
2) New 1to1 combat with all items and new items and several new ways to use classic items.
