I don't believe EGM rumors.  Go back into time with EGM and most aren't true.

That being said...Animal Crossing Shirts spreading to other games with Miis would be awesome.  It would require a Mii upgrade but that could be included in the Animal Crossing game, and it would ensure that Animal Crossing Wii sold to everybody.

Fun fact about EGM.  Once upon a time they had Psycho Letters.  Basically really stupid letters that people wrote about games.  Well before Mortal Kombat 3 came out, my friends and I wrote a letter to EGM that got published.  It was a song for Mortal Kombat 3 to the tune of Be Our Guest from Beauty and the Beast.

"Be my Guest, Be my Guest
Rip my heart out of my Chest
as we Perform the Mortal Kombat Moves which we know are the Best."

Well if you look at the Mii homescreen a Mii in the front has a hat.  So maybe our AC clothes could be picked up by our Miis.

If something like Animal Crossing accessories can't be stored in the same data files as the Miis themselves, they could at least have other games read the Animal Crossing save data and work from there.

I like games that read saves from other games, and there should be more of them.  Lost Kingdoms II reads Lost Kingdoms, and LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy reads LEGO Star Wars, and in both cases a lot is unlocked.  (And even though it's not much, Naruto: Clash Of Ninja 2 checks to see if there's a Naruto: Clash Of Ninja save, SSBM checks for a Pikmin save, MGS/MGS: Twin Snakes has some fun with other games saved, etc.)  As a reward for playing previous games or related games, I always wish there was more!

Mii Crossing. Mii's will be your avatar in the next Animal Crossing. All the shirts and accessories you collect will cross over to other games.

Am I the only one who sees this as a no-brainer? Why have the Miis to represent you when the game which is supposed to represent YOU more than anything (Animal Crossing) is still using little midget people  which look nothing like you?

I'll be surprised if the new AC DOESN'T use Miis to represent you.

And it actually would be possible for the Miis to have accessories. Nintendo just needs to update the Mii Channel to include them via firmware download (which is along the lines of what WC24 was supposed to promise anyway).

The Miis would still appear as normal on other consoles without the update. It could all work rather easily.

If Nintendo can update the Mii Channel without the fear of how non-updated Wiis will see the Miis, then I think they should add more hair colours.  How am I going to create Jade (BG&E), Jessie (Pokémon), Rei (Evangelion), Ulala (Space Channel 5) if they don't have greenish, red, light blue, or purple hair?

And skin colours.  How am I going to make Dot (ReBoot) if I don't have green skin?

Green skin may be pushing it; but I don't think red hair is too much to ask for.

Speaking of Mii accessories and getting them fomr Mii Crossing, wouldn't it be kinda neat if you earn accessories/features by certain accomplishment from games(like trophies in SSBM) and be able to display them on your Mii. Sort of like a souvenier or something.

i.e. Unlocking a pair of overalls from SMG, or the Mario/Luigi nose so that you can create a Mario/Luigi Mii.

Ok, so GoNintendo has posted two new rumors.

1)Dragon Quest Swords will be a new pack in game for the Wii sometime this year.
2)Nintendo is about to make a huge announcement some time this month.  Possibly as soon as this week.

Pretty cheesy rumors I know.  Here are my thoughts on them.

The first rumor is very unlikely, unless Nintendo is out right buying the game from SquareEnix because otherwise they would make a killing on that game.  If this is true, actually expect the cost of the Wii to go UP for the Wii pack in instead of down.  And also expect this only to occur in Japan.  This pack in would not go over as well for Nintendo in America.

The second rumor seems to be a continuation story with the first rumor.  Perhaps to give it more validity but, lets say it is not.  What other announcements could be made?

1)Metroid Prime being released early and with online play (very pausible.)
2)Nintendo grabbing a new exclusive game series?
3)Virtual Console announcements either new system added or some really big games about to be released.
4)New Channels or New Wii Firmware upgrade coming soon.
5) Something else entirely.

Of those possibilities all are probable.  Though, I would predict that 1 or 3 would be the most likely.  As they are easier for Nintendo to pull off successfully and would be pretty big announcements.

The Wii Firmware upgrade we know will be coming eventually.  Nintendo has stated they want to make load times quicker within the channels and startup. People are desiring a sub-channel system for virtual console games.  A better memory management with the SD Cards would be nice.  Finally, Nintendo could figure a work around for getting the virtual console controllers to work the Gamecube games.  There must be a way.

Finally, just to tease something else.

It would be cool if the Mii channel got an actual upgrade.  Ears, more colors, hairstyles, and perhaps the ability to have two favorite colors to coordinate your wardrobe better.

So, let the speculation begin as it always does with new rumors.

(by the way, my bet is on none of this happening.)

Spak, the DQS thing isn't unreasonable. SEnix releases bundles frequently with their games. Final Fantasy III had one on the DS, for example.

Artimus:  That is true...it isn't completely unreasonable.  But It was also only available in Japan.  Which makes it less of a big announcement.  Personally, I think it would be a great move for Nintendo, and would help cement the Wii as a success in Japan.  And Nintendo could be able to release the Wii with DQS in Japan for $250.00 (don't know the conversion rate) instead of the lower price they have now.

Personally, I would like one nice firmware upgrade for the Wii to come out sometime next year that handles most of the problems in one single upgrade.  That way Nintendo can allow you to download it online...or have it in game stores to pick up for free...like they do with their demo advertisement discs.

I would love the upgrade to include the following:

1)  Better Memory Management from SD Cards.  Including playing VC games from the SD Cards and game saves from the SD Cards.

2)  Mii upgrade with ears, more colors (for everything) Two favorite colors for clothing, and I would be happy with that alone...but more options for everything would be good.  Oh and more importantly 200 Mii saves...because I am already running out of room.

3)  Virtual Console Sub-channels...or the ability to make your own sub-channels.  Personally, I think you would only need them to go down one level, but once they do that sub-channel has 3 pages to it, just like the regular Channels have 3 pages worth.

4)  200 Wii Friend limit instead of 100.

As for other announcement possibilities for the rumor.  IF and I stress a BIG IF.  If the rumors are true, I would place my money on a Metroid Prime 3 announcement.

I see the game coming out First Quarter 07 and support online play.  Reggie made a comment saying we would be playing a online game early in 07.  And to me the best Americanized game to bring online is Metroid.  Finally, the announcement could come with an invitation to play the game at the Nintendo Store or something special.

By the way....I can't believe nobody remembers those stupid psycho letter in EGM.

DQS won't be the pack-in game, but it could very well be a bundled together with a limited edition Wii (much like the FF3 DSL bundle).  It would sell like hotcakes in Japan.

DQS might actually make SENSE to be a pack-in game. That way, Square can move even more units of it, since people won't be given the chance to judge the game on its own merits as a DQ-branded swordfighting elements of Red Steel.

DQS may happen, though only in Japan.  It definitely won't happen in the US (well, not definite but highly unlikely).  It just isn't a popular enough franchise in the US to warrant a pack-in.

I'd say there's a very good chance the DQS bundle will happen in Japan. It helps both companies. Nintendo can't possibly pass up the opportunity to sell thousands of special addition Wiis which would ultimately lead to greater consumer and developer confidence.

Also, I remember the Psycho Letter of the Month in EGM. I subcribed for like 7 years. You need to something to read on the crapper. The magazine slowly declined in quality after Ed Semrad stepped down as Editor in Chief. Dan Hsu is just terrible. What the hell happened to the previews section?

I don't think it will be a pack-in. They'll probably have a "special edition" Wii, like vudu said, for DQS, but when was the last time a third party game was truly packed in with a Nintendo console? Has that ever happened?

- Fire Emblem Wii has two parts... The first part is the original Fire Emblem Path of Radiance*..

- Nights Wii

- Square Enix and Disney agreed to put the next Kingdom Hearts on Nintendo Consoles

- Swords of Legendia will be the first game of the Swords of series.. a Spinoff series of the Tales of series..

also wasn't it memtioned somewhere else that a 1st person Kingsfield-esque game was coming to Wii?

I have never heard one rumor pop up more than the NiGHTS for Wii rumor. I hope Sega comments on it soon.

assuming the KH rumor is true, I hope they bring out a KH compilation first, as I haven't even played the first two games.

oh, and I hope the Fire Emblem rumor is true too, cause I was gonna buy FE:PoR the other day, but it turned out to not be on sale, and also not is stock. This will save me a purchase.

I'd buy FE and KH both.  I might get the King's Field game if it turns out to be good.  I'm guessing it'll be more than a DQS clone.

Of course, the next KH game could be on DS as well.  That would make more sense anyways with Chain of Memories on the GBA.
