The Capcom 2
« on: July 08, 2006, 10:20:40 AM »
I refer, of course, to the 'only' worthwhile titles of the original Capcom 5: Viewtiful Joe and RE4. And, after way too long, I finally purchased them both yesterday! I haven't played RE4 yet (saving it for a dark, lonely night, lol) but have been playing Joe. Besides absolutely sucking (I can't even beat the helicopter on Adult, so I've resorted to playing Kids) I'm really enjoying it. I'm not a huge beat-em-up fan, but Joe is so well done you can't not like it. They seriously better come out with this for Wii, it could be insane if they include all kinds of whacky actions.

You really shouldn't dismiss Killer 7 so quickly.  It's quite a unique game and worth playing.  The gameplay isn't as bad as some reviewers make it out to be.  I had a quite a bit of fun with it.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

I <3 Killer 7. Buy it. It's only $14.99 now.

As for P.N. 03, I remember playing a demo of it at EB Games and, after getting over the fun of firing little energy shots from the character's arm, feeling bored with the drab environment. Since then, I've never felt compelled to try the game out.
I am Karl Castaneda's news-posting clone, also known as Karl Castaneda #2. I have an inferiority complex, thanks to my being a clone. Fear me!

Killer 7 is... the game control style is simplistic and a little clunky, but does nothing to detract from the style, zazz, panache and utter awesomeness of Killer 7's world and storyline.

Killer 7 is quickly becoming my favourite GameCube game. Every day Killer 7 gets better in my mind, even without even playing it! PN03 is also GREAT. I don't know if I love VJ more, probably more than PN03, but not as much as Killer 7. RE4 and Killer 7 are the best. I'd like to thank Capcom for all this great quality and I hope to see more on Wii!

P.N.03 + killer7 = win

RE4 would NEVER have materialized the way it had without the development of P.N.03.

And VJ is the glorious one-hit wonder.

If anyone can't see how this...

...and this...

...would be exponentially better with accelerometers and a laser pointing device, and perhaps even the greatest Wii game ever, then they are utterly devoid of imagination. Which most likely means they sit on the board of Capcom.

Yeah, I have a dorm-mate who swears by P.N.03, but I honestly can't see anything at all appealing about the game. He says the gameplay ends up something like a "Gradius" style shooter, but I think he's just trying to come up with an excuse to look at Vanessa's backside for hours on end.

I will say this for P.N.03 though... she jumps real nicely, animation, and the distance she jumps fits precisely with the level design in manyc ases, so it's quite seamless flipping.

I played P.N. 03 to the end, the environments were similar throughout the game, but the gameplay was actually what held the game together, and the graphics were very nice overall.

It's also not an FPS/TPS. Some people don't seem to understand that and complain about control lag and "stupid" enemies...

As for the environments, they were similar but each level still had a distinct look. Of course a high-tech instalation will have a consistent look, be happy they didn't try to be "creative" and let you fight through warehouses and sewers full of wooden crates.

Yeah, I only played the demo for that, but I thought what killed it was the lack of creativeness in the aesthetic design. I can put up with retread shoot-em-up gameplay, but the company behind Darkstalkers and Mega Man has got to have it in them to make the game and characters look more unique than they did.

*raises hand* I can join the PNO3 club too right? Right? I, too, am a big fan of this game. I think the problem here is that when oen palys it, they aren't given what they expected it to be and stops judging the game based on what it is and starts to do so based on what it isn't. A shame really, I find it fun..

Funny note, isn't it great how Capcom never ported the "worse" of the Capcom 5 (Believe in Dead Phoenix!) to PS2? Why stop the backstabbing at VJ, RE4, and K7? Go for the gusto!
They gave a war, nobody came, imagine all the fuss. They'd have to send themselves instead of...sending us. Yeah (People of the Generation - by Scatman John)

I think P.N.03 came out before Capcom gave up on the idea of exclusive GameCube support, and the company just didn't feel like going back to port it.
That's my opinion, not yours.
