Not suprising, I wonder if sony have fix there driver problems yet
Iv read that Vaio drivers released earlier this year didnt work on most copies on SP2

Well the thing is that laptop makers want to stop hard drive failures in the event of a laptop taking a nasty fall and consumers would want a laptop with longer battery life.

16 GIGs though isn't that much for a computer.  Why not have 2 or 3 FLASH chips for double or triple that memory?

Well flash memory in bulky quantities can get expensive especially if they want to keep it in  the size of a laptop harddrive chasis.
