I was hoping for a fron USB port and a reset button.

But this brings us back to the Question.  Where is the Mysterious expansion port?

What's so mysterious about an expansion port? Nintendo consoles always have one or 2.

That's what makes it Mysterious.  They always have them but there either not used or not all of them.  They never say anything about there plans for them till about half way through the consoles life cycle.

Enlarged and Enhanced:

Can anyone make it out?  The little grey rectangle on the far right side of the flap looks like a light of some sort.  The center black inset looks possibly like a memory slot, but that little extra notch it has on it is a little strange.  The white circle thing on the left has got me.  It could be a light, a button, an infrared sensor, or some sort of microphone jack.

I agree with those that think the eye is a camera. It probably something equivalent of a cell phone quality digital camera. Games like Wii Sports hint at the ability to put your likeness in the games, so the camera (if it is a camera) would be a nice bonus to allow games to add their face to a game without an additional add on.

Button little notch is where SD cards go. The top bigger area is where Compact Flash goes.  You can also put a few different mediums into something with a slot configuration like that.  That's pretty standard on PC multi-card readers.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that there'll be a SYNC button in there.

Cheater!

Clickly for the REAL IMAGE

The button says "SYNC."

I'm not sure what it's for. It could be for the Wiimote, but why not have that button on the sensor bar or Wiimote itself?

It could be to synchronize the memory card or something. What do you guys think?

But in that last picture it almost seems like something is missing. Just looks like a big hole, not like some of the other pictures that have been posted. Strange

palm (makers of palm pilot and palm os) use a SYNC button... i'm wondering if that vpocket software will come out and maybe even take use of the DS Ram Cartridge that the Browser uses... maybe you can just plug in your DS/DSlite Ram Cartridge into the DS and then hit the SYNC button to sync your data (games/PIM/movie/music)

They always put them there, just in case. To keep their options open, it's no big deal.
