No Da Vinci Code?
« on: May 16, 2006, 09:22:36 AM »
I had no idea that there was a game coming out until this week.  A few places listed a GC version, but I can't find any info and the others are coming out this week.

I also couldn't find anything on this site?

I believe it's only for PC, PS2 and Xbox.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

There are GameCube versions of the Da Vinci code. They're just hidden somewhere, and you have to crack Leonardo's centuries-old code to find them.
“...there are those who would...say, '...If I could just not have to work everyday...that would be the most wonderful life in the world.' They don't know life. Because what makes life mean something is purpose.  The battle. The struggle.  Even if you don't win it.” - Richard M. Nixon

Already figured it out.

So, I realized after watching the movie that Robert Langdon is kind of the "modern day" Indiana Jones.

Only less ass-kickery on his part, and instead of fighting Nazis, he fights the Vatican.

Leo must've been drunk because it's B A and START isn't part of the code, it's just to unpause the game.

Nah, not really, TMW.

Langdon actually saves the Vatican in the prequel (which is waaay better than crappy DaVinci Code, BTW)

FINE.

He's a modern day watered down Indiana Jones who fights FASCIST PRIESTS instead of Nazi's.

Wait.  Who did he fight in the first one?

Yeah. The movie based on the book sucked, so the game based on the movie can only suck more.

A game based on any movie will suck. There are 1 or 2 exceptions, but the percentages are so low, its not worth considering. The same can be said about games to movies. There are just some things people shouldn't be allowed to do and that is movies to games translation and vice versa.

I think I, and everyone else, is waiting for a book, to movie, to game conversion... with the game then being converted into a movie with a novelization.

Wait. Who did he fight in the first one?

If it's the book I think it is he fought Illuminati. Just like Hagbard Celine and J C Denton.

If you liked the book The Da Vinci Code, then do yourself a favor and read Angels & Demons, its a better book.
Considering how well Da Vinci's Code is doing in the theater, I wouldn't be surprised to see a prequel of Angels & Demons next.

I have not seen the movie or heard of the game, but I did enjoy the book and all the controversy that it caused.
But Angels & Demons is still better, and they are both easy reading.

I would like to point out the fact that the game is based on the book, not on the movie.  There are changes made to the movie that were not made to the book.  There is also no likeness of Tom Hanks anywhere to be found within the game.  It will suck nonetheless.

Game based on a movie based on a book that is totally fiction.  Ghetto.
