What I like the most about the "do something with your nothing"DS ads is that they get the point accross.

1. It isn't overly flashy.

2. Shows REAL situations which warrants the use of a DS.

3. shows ADULTS enjoying their games.

4. It shows the true purpose of the games. In other words, it isn't lost in weird, stupid ad concepts.

5. It represents the simple but enjoyable "Touch generations" line perfectly.

The ads themselves have been really well placed. I've seen the Touch generations commercials on Nick at Nite and Adult swim during prime time, as well as in other channels of adult interest.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the ads also catch you by surprise. Since there is no fanfare at the beginning of the ad, you expect it to be a commercial about life insurance, a bank, deodorant, food etc., then it hits you with the fact that its an ad for DS games.

Excellent commercials if you ask me.

On the question of whether to use actors or real people as in the Wii experience videos, I think the Wii Experience videos would be better, because you can see that it's not just a bunch of people being told to act like they're having fun...but I don't think Nintendo's marketing is daring enough to go with such a bare-bones approach.  I think they still want Wii to look cool-slick in the ads.
That's my opinion, not yours.
