Topic: Microsoft pushes Wii60 to battle against PS3

Breaking news!  Bill Gates doesn't think the controller is so great.

Problem with his comment on the Sidewinder is, THIS is why Nintendo is in the hardware business.  It can push a new concept to the public in such a way that the only way to ignore it is to not consider Nintendo at all.  With the Sidewinder, it's just another faceless PC accessory that probably only worked with a few Microsoft games.  With the remote, if you own a Wii, you will use it.

As for comments on moving around and stuff, may turn out to be true, only time will tell.  Sounds like excuses to me.

Anyway, i guess in the minds of microsoft/sony, getting the Wii won't hurt them as much as getting a "competing" console, this is exactly what nintendo wanted.  The downside is that i'm going to be required to get a 360 or PS3 in order to play some of the games I want to play.  I wish most of them would come to PC, but i know that for platformers and action based titles and such, Mouse/keyboard isn't the best option.  (Even if the Xbox360 controller works wonderfully on PC)
