Superman Returns, bitches.

Just got a look at the new Superman Returns trailer...and I must say, it looks positively great.  Kevin Spacey does a very good Lex Luthor, and the fact they left in the original score just goes to show how much of a sequel to the original movies this really is.

I am so gonna watch this.

That looks pretty bad ass......

But you know what's even better. Search X-men and watch the HD trailer #2. Yeah....it's like that.

Fully agree. I'm much more looking forward to X3 then this, even inspite of the fact that the Sentinel scene looked... "meh".

Yep...I was so psyched when I found out that Lex Luthor would be played by Kevin Spacey, he's the ultimate villain. (Keyser Soze, John Doe, etc.) This trailer totally validated that and made me even more psyched. X3 is gonna be cool, but I hope it's done right (as its being done by Brett Ratner, not Bryan Singer, because Singer is doing Superman...I'm pretty sure the two switched projects, its sorta confusing)

I'm glad they dropped the whole Jesus = Superman angle, at least in the trailer. I've already seen Passion of the Christ.

Kevin Spacey as Luthor?  All I can see is him playing Dr. Evil in Goldmember.
That's my opinion, not yours.

Superman will forever be boring to me.  Yeah, he's a man and he is super(boring powers that are too strong), he wears underwear on the outside, anyone can kill him with a rock, and his disguise is a pair of glasses.  I need A LOT more to drink to get excited about the idea of another movie.

Don't go to see Superman fly around in tights (unless you dig that sort of thing).

Go to see Kevin Spacey play an evil bastard and Supes get all emo.

Superman's outfit has always looked silly ..

I blame this movie for indirectly making x men 3 so dissapointing, but I still kind of want to see it. I completly agree with SixthAngel though, Superman is a bit boring.

I too blame Singer and (actor that played Cyclops) for bringing the 3rd X-Men movie down serverl notches in expected performance, and because of this I hope Superman bombs in the theatre.

I will still go see it, but it will be during a FREE early viewing the night b4 release. I will let you know how it turns out.

If it was only Singer maybe things wouldnt have end up like they did, but he also took the writting staff with him, and Fox thought that the guys who did Elektra and Mr and Ms Smith were good for the job... I blame Fox a lot more than I blame Singer, and I hope they rot slowly in hell.

But yeah, Superman... doesnt he has already four movies?

And Batman had five movies, but no one complained when they made Batman Begins.

ok I accept my mistake, I didnt know Superman IV sucked just as bad as Batman and Robin, Im curious to see it know, if only for the laughs.

This comic to film renaissance has been pretty cool, but lets hope X3 isnt the sign of the start of the downfall, or in other words, lets hope siderman 3/wonderwoman/superman/next batman don't suck.

Well, X3 is the first one that I was anticipating and let me down, (is still a nice movie though) but now that you mentioned it, Catwoman was the real start of the downfall, although that one seemed like a hiccup, with Batman begins coming later and actually being a very good film!

Its just that it would be great if we could anticipate these movies without the unavoidable thought that they are going to screw it up in a big way somehow.

You can't blame Singer for taking the Superman movie. If it wasn't for the first Superman movie, he would have never made the first two X-Men movies. Fox is to blame on the quality of X-Men 3 (good or bad).

And comics to film has always been a crapshoot. The original Captain America that was never released, the first Punisher, Fantastic Four (either one), Incredible Hulk, Daredevil, Swamp Thing, ect . . .

But good ones seem to be unlikely ones - The Mask with Jim Carey, Men In Black, Conan took some inspiration from the comic along with the novels, others that I can't think of at the moment.

Superman Returns is supposed to wipe out Superman III and IV, taking place 5 or so years after Superman II, from what I hear. I'm looking forward to it. It is Bryan's dream job and I'm sure he is making it his baby.

Everyone, do yourself a favor and avoid this movie at all costs. I went to see it last night and my god was it boring. Kevin Spacey did make a great Lex Luthor, but there was just not enough action in the movie. Sorry guys but this one gets two thumbs down.
