Deep down I hope title number two isn't Dragon Quest.  That will sell like gangbusters in Japan but I would personally prefer an RPG that North Americans will actually want to play.  The Dragon Quest games play like they're still on the NES.

This qoute is a little.....well, general but still, it does seem to point to Dragon Quest since FF:CC is being made as well as FF for the DS.

Anyway, here's the qoute: "[it'll] make Japanese RPG fans very, very happy."

Sounds like DQ to me!

Maybe a spin-off (like the slime games) or a re-make, but I can't see them putting one of their main main installments in DQ or FF on the Wii.....not yet, anyways.

Well, though you might be right, your forgetting something:

Square was the FIRST company to truly praise the console.

Dragon Quest moving Wiis like gangbusters in Japan = a lot more third party support from Japan = a lot more games in the US

There was a rumor about 6 months ago that a new DQ would be exclusive to the Rev.  I'll take it either way, but wouldn't that be a huge announcement?

Though I admit I have no idea what it is, it LOOKS kinda like Max Roivas from Eternal Darkness coming face to face with a Chu'turga zombie.

As for the argument, if the Wii storms Japan, it'll be great, but I too hope for better US support.

I love Dragon Quest myself. VIII was visually stunning, deep, and flat out enjoyable.

Putting DQ on Wii might actually help its fanbase in the US as well. It tends to get so overshadowed by the FF titles over here, if it's on a different platform it might be able to climb out from behind FF's shadow.

Though if Square is hesitant to move the main series to the Wii, a Wii installment of the DQ Monsters game would be very welcome as well. Admittedly it's a bit less mainstream, but the series always had amazing replayability.

FF:Crystal Chronicles DS contains the much anticipated wifi and more whimsical graphics.  A Wii version too.

Official Title from new Dragon Quest game: "Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen at the Tower of Mirrors"

Wut?

The use of the word Swords leads me to think this game wont be as much a turn-based RPG as other games in the series.

Regardless of them being "side-games", the fact that Nintendo has a Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest game at launch in Japan is absolutely crazy. How is Nintendo gonna be able to have enough systems at launch? They're gonna run out on the first day.
