A slightly different E3 Wii topic
« on: May 03, 2006, 11:17:01 PM »
I was wondering what game do you guys think will steal the show? The game can be for any of the 3 systems. My personal pick would have to be Too Human, though I feel some of the Wii games will come close.

I'm keeping an eye on Too Human, but I don't think it will be a show-stealer.

I'm just desperately hoping for Mario to be there. I'd gladly give up nearly every other game just to see Mario playable. However, I have a feeling that there will only be a small video clip or something, so I'm not getting my hopes up..

Whatever the case, though, I think a Revolution title will win Game of the Show..

New Miyamoto IP, I imagine.

I think Smash Brothers and a new Miyamoto IP have a good shot at taking the show. It's hard to say what specific game since we don't know much, But I strongly believe that Wii will dominate the and be the center of attention.

If the rumors are true and they do show a Final Fantasy VII remake, that will definately get attention.... But if Sony shows the same type of games for PS3 that we already know about, it will lose so much hype......
Currently Playing: Twilight Princess(Wii), Castlevania: PoR(DS), Mario vs. Donkey Kong2(DS), Wii sports(Wii)

It'd be a slap in the face to have a GC game beat out X360 and PS3 titles.

That would indeed be humorous . Hey and to a previous poster, I realized we don't know all what will be there, but that is what is fun about prediction topics you can create your own potential reality! I personally don't think the new Mario will be shown, and I don't believe MP3 nor SMB for Wii will be show stealers, so I have no choice but to go with Too Human or maybe Metal Gear for PS3 (but then again that may only be in video only form).

it'd be a slap in the face if a GC game gets more shine than Wii games. Even if said GC game has some Wiimote funtionality.

That would be a disaster. Period.

I think one of Nintendo's Wii games is going to take the game of the show.

Here is why:

Basically, this show is going to be mostly about graphics.  Halo 3 will be impressive, so will the stuff Sony has available...but despite all the graphical upgrades...Nintendo is going to pull something out that will be so unique and fun that people just won't stop talking about it.

I am not talking about Metroid Prime 3 or Red Steel, or anything like that.  I am predicting it will be an odd game.

Something more on the lines of Wario Ware.  The Wiimote must be used in completely engaging and mindblowing ways.

I could also see Mario being a big game this generation...and Smash Brothers Wii...but not game of the show.

I've seen some Too Human footage and I'm frankly not impressed at all.

Every game which I've played in which you have to mow down hundreds of identical enemies has grown boring after the first 30 minutes. In TH, it even goes so far as to have the same move performed after each action. The character did this downward thrust move with a glaive and each time did this same gun clearing move afterwards. Unless this is a very preliminary movie, the combat looks HIGHLY automated.

I expect a kickass storyline, but the combat already looked bland. Given that combat is not SK's strong point, I'm not surprised.

Halo 3 will steal the show.  It won't deserve it but it'll be proclaimed Game of Show regardless.

A Wii title will be the one that deserves to be Game of Show though.

...except real juggling takes coordination. Which some people don't have, and press would review the Wii controls as flawed or too difficult. Then some people would write Wii off.

Ha! That's a real sky is falling type scenario I concocted..

Seriously...as an unlockable mode, mabye, but not as core gameplay.

If you want to get technical, all of those music games take timing and coordination, and in a sense, that's all juggling would require.

Hmm I don't think Halo 3 will steal the show, from what I hear it will be in video only format. I guess when I think of "stealing" the show they game has to be playable!

So do I actually have to juggle my controllers?  If I'm going to do that I might as well just juggle for real since that, you know, is what I'm doing in the first place.
