I actually have played Goldeneye, though only multiplayer.
But that isn't the reason I didn't play single player.

I'd like to think well of N-Space despite my heavy dislike for this game though, and believe that with the Revolution not being headache-inducing-ambitious in the development environment, perhaps they'll fare better next game and perhaps they can develop a more complete concept next time as well.

I would probably like Geist if I bought it.

I would probably buy it if it wasn't forty-nine dollars and ninety-nine ****ing cents.

Goldeneye had bosses.  It just didn't have giant mechs or demons or other such things.

It  does? I remember vaguely the game because I played it rental only, it was a good game.

You should check the Amazing Deals thread more often.  Best Buy was selling it for $10 about a month ago (Killer 7, too).  I bought both, but haven't gotten around to playing either one yet.

It's on my to-do list.  (So's finish Golden Sun, start Golden Sun 2, play the last case in Phoenix Wright, and start Ouenden.)  First I need to finish up a tough semester.

EDIT:  And Brain Training.  I forgot about that one.  Perhaps I'll get Hunters one of these days, too.

What? NNOOOOOooooOOOOoOOooOooOoOOooO *gasp* ooOOoOoooooOOoOooOoOooOOOOOO!!!!1111!!111!!1!!!!!!!11!1!

...

But seriously, I'm not delirious about Metroid Prime either, which Miyamoto worked on waaaay more than he worked on Geist.

Even though I can still try to pinpoint and revel in Miyamoto's small touches in such games, I actually make a big distinction whether it is a Miyamoto-DIRECTED game or not. And with his new position in the company, poor me, those are few and far between.

Incidentally, I haven't truly been hooked by a Zelda game since OoT because, surprise surprise, MM and WW were both Aonouma-directed games! This doesn't bode well for my enjoyment of TP, unfortunately, but I shall do my best to endure, and seek out whatever crumbs I can find that have fallen from the master's table.

Why is it that these amazing $10 deals come and go when I'm not looking and then the game goes back up to $50? Is there no middle ground?

interesting experiment: try playing as many upcomming first-party games as possible without learning who they were/weren't directed by beforehand.

I can usually tell if the master's hand has graced the game just on pure game control and design. I'm that full of it.

heh.

You know, I actually agree that there's a noticeable difference between Miyamoto and non-Miyamoto directed games. It's just that, there are times when I feel artists other than Miyamoto, you know, add to games. Majora's Mask, for example, steals all of Miyamoto's great gameplay ideas from OOT... and then creates a dark, beautiful game with them that Miyamoto personally wouldn't have made.

Miyamoto wouldn't have touched it with a 10 foot stick.

...j/k

It's obvious that other artists are able to achieve things that Miyamoto would never even attempt. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of Miyamoto's biggest things haven't benefitted from collaboration one way or another. But I'm a hopeless Miyamoto fanboi and anything else is, well, sacrilege.

Bit of a stretch Kairon. Sacrilege is playing a PS2, not another nintendo game developed by some one other than Miya.

Blashpemy is when one buys an Intended Exclusive Nintendo game(Killer 7, RE4) for the PS2. These people must die.....

Pointless post, bit intoxicated...

I find your definition of blasphemy alluring, but I must protest your definition of sacrilege.

Is it sacrilege to sacrifice one's own enjoyment by playing acclaimed games that are other system's exclusives in order to better appreciate the master? I'd gladly put myself through the hell of GTA 3: SA and Morrowind - The Elder Scrolls III just so I can understand the dark demonic forces at work against the one force of good I worship. Is it sacrilege to get pwnt in Halo and Halo 2 time after time so you can understand the mindset of mindless XBox lovers? Is it sacrilege to have suffered through hours upon hours of FF7, not even able to end your own misery because of the comatose state your mind is put in via that game, because you need to understand the enemy?

I didn't buy most of them, but played on my friend's systems, borrowed them, or spent hours watching other people play them. I even disliked or even hated all the above games to varying degrees, but as a Miyamoto fanboy I willingly subjected myself to them PRECISELY because my calling as a fanboy necessitated it.

You see, as one who yearns for deeper understanding of Miyamoto-do, I must first understand what he fights against. I must be able to understand and speak the daemonic 1337speek of Halo as if I am one them. I must be able to argue anime-derived drivel with RPGamers ably, for if I am left behind I cannot achieve success. I must be able to enter the mind of one who drives over hookers in GTA 3:SA, for only then will I know the depths of the beast that I seek to vanquish.

Sacrilege? I think not. Instead, playing games on other systems is a holy, truth-seeking, but hideous and near-fatal task that lies before any true Nintendo Fan.

... and I am not yet worthy.

No, but it is sacrilege to worship any other than the one true god. Just saying.

...anywayyyy, back to Geist.  I thought the multiplayer was VERY ghetto.  Like, it was very easy to confuse posessable meatbags with enemies.  Plus, I loved the character/weapon variation: sniper guy, assault rifle guys #1 and 2, rocket launcher guy, shotgun guy.  Yipee.
Yeah, I do play mafia games.

randomly back to geist since i was just playing the mutiplayer with friends for the first time (its hard to convince them to play other than Strikers and SSBM)..

my favorite thing is to posses the rockets laying on the floor and blast the sh*t outta them becuase they dont suspect it .

so yeha, i actually liked the games albeit the controls sucked. it was so hard to aim sometimes. i'd buy a Wii version.
