No Mafia for cube
« on: February 27, 2003, 02:24:08 PM »
According to IGN, take-two [gotham games] release list for the cube is Piglets big game[i think] and conflict desert storm.  Mafia will be released for x-box and ps2.  A Serious sam sequal was mentioned, but for the pc.  Question is, what happened to Mafia and the Serious Sam game GC was supposed to get?  Just an oversight on the release list?  Does anyone else remember these games being confirmed, as i do?

In December-January, Gamepro.com had a press release of Take Two that had both Serious Sam Cubed (Its not a sequel, a new game based in the series) and Mafia set to go for the gamecube. Its possible that they were cancelled in a month but i doubt it. It would be sooo pathetic, if a game based around Disneys Piglet  was our big game from take two while PS2 gets GTA. Killing and Stealing cars, or an talking pig!

have you seen the screen shots of the Piglet game? The game looks pretty good.

Personally I could care less about either game.  However, I am angry because the other two systems get them, but GameCube was promised them a long time ago, and we are now getting ripped off.

I was really excited after hearing Mafia was announced for GameCube, and even more so with the Serious Sam sequel. I will be very upset if these games don't make it.

Or perhaps... "Piglett's Grand Theft Auto" or "GTA: Hundred Acre Wood"!

From what I've heard from one of the guys at Remedy (Max Payne) on the 3DRealms boards, it seems to be quite difficult to successfully port DirectX games to the GC.  That seems to be the only reason why GC never got Max Payne, and it very well may be true in the situation with Mafia as well.

I can see it now. Piglett goes around the woods stealing honey-pot cars and telling innocent animals to get f*cked, all while shooting up and pissing on everything. 10/10!

There's no Kit for the Cube to make easier the conversion of DirectX to the gamecube?

Sounds like a bunch of supreme BS to me.  Excuses excuses...
