Kotaku Insider suggests Revolution delay?

FEAR the delay rumors!

http://kotaku.com/gaming/top/ea-insider-dishes-on-lack-of-revolution-163015.php

The site quotes their insider at Electronic Arts as saying:
Quote

"What is equally interesting to note is that the Revolution has not been mentioned at any Next-Gen meetings. Now, this means one of two things: We aren’t doing any Revolution launch titles (highly unlikely), or the Revolution isn’t coming out within the next 6 - 8 months so we aren’t worrying about titles for it yet. Spong says it's coming out in June... Kotaku says it's not coming out ever... =P

Seeing as how at GDC last week everyone still said it will launch in 2006, I doubt this insider has any idea what he is talking about...

That said... It could still be delayed at some point.  I just don't think he knows anything.

Hasn't EA already stated they are developing for the Rev?

March + six = September
March + eight = November

I don't see any problems here.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Don't worry, if you can't find anything to complain about, I'm sure Ian will. In fact, you should see if you can guess what Ian will complain about before he says it!

Um, EA will absolutely have launch title/s this year.

"We aren’t doing any Revolution launch titles (highly unlikely), or the Revolution isn’t coming out within the next 6 - 8 months so we aren’t worrying about titles for it yet."

Translation: EA games only take 6-8 months to make.  No wonder they're so bland and unoriginal.

I don't see any signs so far of a delay.  But we haven't seen any games yet so we don't know far along things are.  Nintendo's own titles might be nearly finished or barely started.

Which EA studio is responsible for Fight Night?

There are EA studios that have Rev hardware, count on it.

EA launch titles, I'm excited. I wonder which will be better... sloppy port of Gamecube version of a franchise or rushed sports franchise with revmote control that just plain doesn't work.

Even the misleading Power Glove commercial showing some Punch-Out!! action with it was limited to just one glove...

Whoa.

Actually, they should later make gloves with similar sensors for more hands-on games.  It would be more natural for when you're just using your fists, or when you're picking up something.

1. Rev tends not to be mentioned
2.  How can you delay something that has no fixed date?
3.  The only thing that would stop Nintendo from launching this year is if they:
A) Have a big bug on the firmware side of things
B) Manafacturing plants burn down with building plans
C) Nazis
D) Death of Miyomoto(sp?, tired)
Yeah that pretty much sums it up.  Even if they have to launch at 11:59 on December the 31st.

That wasn't a screw-up, they just didn't have enough factories. Building new factories isn't something you can just do.

People in America have been waiting for Sony and Nintendo for a year, if Nintendo can't deliver a system within a year of 360, without HD support, without multi cored chips, and with what feels like a two year buffer for software teams to be making games now; it won't be good.  What the hell have they been doing for the past two to three years if the Revolution isn't coming out this year?

It wouldn't be a Nintendo home console launch if there wasn't a delay, now would it? Now they said it would be released somewhere in November, which has been their traditional launch window in the U.S. If there is no delay announced, I would be shocked!!! The implications are huge. It would indicate that Nintendo has actually changed and maybe the Rev will be different. On the other hand, it might indicate that Nintendo has changed for the worst and they will screw up  the Rev somewhere else.  Kidding aside,  I think when its all said and done, the Rev will be delayed by like a week from the date that Nintendo announces at E3.

Well, I think it was a screw-up, based on the fact they promised 1 million units for March, and ended up having to withdraw two of the colours for a week and ending up shipping less than 40% the original goal of 1 million. Which they apologised for.. so hopefully it wont happen again.

I do have to say that 1 million was an ambitious goal.  At least for the get go.

How long could it possibly take to change the names on the backs of the players, change the "05" to an "06" and ship the game?

That's true....kind of.  They have the GC kits, and have been told to scale up from there.

First off, it's '07.  Second....YAWN! Get some new material kids, because all this EA sports bashing is boring.  Whether you like them or not, they HAVE to be on the Rev.  Saying otherwise is foolish, and so is complaining about games you will never, or have never, played.
