During most of Lennon's life he was not considered a great artist. Not until after he was dead did he attain that title.

On topic again, Dr.- that was my point, it is most likely BS. As Rick said set your bullshit detector to high.

more and more confirmations sinking through
one more day and we know for sure

manuforeva, sure John Lennon wasnt recognized that much as an artist back then, but that was in times of musical revolution, music went through many revolutions

and im sure many people still dont see videogames as art, but one day they will, and shiggy will be the hero

Heres a nother one...

"Metal Gear Solid on GameCube!
NEWTECHNIX.com is reporting that Nintendo of Europe has confirmed through them that Nintendo Co. Ltd. is working with Konami to upgrade Metal Gear Solid for the Nintendo GameCube. The announcement comes after Shigeru Miyamoto, while on tour in Europe to promote The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, told Italian press on Monday that Konami was working on the title. Of course, GAF reported this way back in the beginning of December, thanks to an inside source. Hopefully, a more formal announcement will come soon. Stay tuned!"

How could the megaton be BS, how could Vivendi buyout  still have been BS. I will stay skeptical until I see links or a statement from a much larger site.

In case anyone was wondering what the Konami board admin's post was, here it is:

"I can tell you that YES, just as Mr. Miyamoto stated, a metal gear game for the GC is in development, but honestly, that is all the info that is available. But this is what I was talking about when I said I can't wait for E3 (I dont know what info we will have there but there should be some more by then I would guess), and believe me, you guys can't wait either! So i know its not all of our hit franchises coming to cube, but it is one of our best and hottest ones and a deserving one at that. And who knows, if this game sells what it should, you may get your Castlevania and Contra yet!"

So you're saying you don't believe NOE, Miyamoto, the Konami board administrator, who works for Konami itself, and  this news story???  I don't really know how much more official you can get than that, barring an official press release.

Well given the increasing number of confirmations my skepticism is waivering but until Rick Powers himself confirms it.....I wont consider it fact. That stated I'm really starting to get my hopes up. It would be nice to have Snake on cube. I can only imagine how great the game would look if it were built from the ground up for the Gamecube and if Nintendo really is co developing it. That means it will be Cube only.

Then that's what I want.  Sorry, I've watched this industry long enough to know that, no matter how many sources you have, there's no replacement for official press releases.

Oh, and did you hear?  Nintendo's going to buy Capcom, there will be a mature-themed Zelda/Shiek game, and Nintendo's going to fold it up and go third-party.

Ok, that's enough for me.  Time to break out the champagne now I think.  From the sounds of it, this is something OTHER than MGS2, and for that I am indeed very happy.  If it doesn't include Raiden, I will positively jump for joy.  Maybe I will begin to take back all that stuff I said about Konami for the last few years too if this is really good.

LOL nicely said Alberto.  I agree with him and I won't jump for joy until I hear something from Nintendo Power or NOJ or NOA say something about this.

I will say I'm intensely interested as to what will come of Miyamoto's involvement with the title, if we can believe that he really and truly will be collaborating in the making of such a game as Metal Gear Solid. The mind reels with possibilities. Really it does.

As for whether or not it's actually happening in the first place, you can sit and say, "I don't believe it," if you want, and I understand your apprehension considering past faux-pas like "TEH MEGATON" (forgive me, I hate the whole "teh" thing as much as you do), but no one can deny that these are extremely believable sources.  No harm in getting excited about it.  Lord knows we've seen disappointment before and we will again.  ;-)

Alpha, I hated both Raiden, and the plot of MGS2.  Substance just doesn't cut it.  The entire game would have to be reworked to make me happy.  The tanker level was awesome, but every bit after that got progressively worse.  By the time I got to the end, I hated the game.  But I promptly started on the tanker level again right after I had finished the game.  The difference then was I had the brains to quit when Raiden came on stage.

A remake of the first MGS game would be a dream come true for me.  Can you imagine the last cut scene with Sniper Wolf with GameCube's hardware and Prologic II sound?  I almost peed myself thinking about that...  Actually, I might just og relive that scene right now.  It stands as one of the greatest video game moments EVER in my books.

Raiden was cool.  I had no problems with him, especially once he got the sword.  I mean, the guy took out like 5 Metal Gears with a sword and a bazooka!  Just because he wasn't Snake didn't mean he was a scrub.  I did hate the plotline at the end (seemed like it was trying to rip off Evangelion or Xenogears or something), but oh well.  As long as they deep six the "Patriots", Rose's AI, and Vamp all will be right with the world.  Oh yeah, and they need to make Emma live, and put in real Rose instead of that bi**h you deal with through most of the game.  So basically, it's exactly like you said-change some stuff and it'll rock.

As I said before, a remake like RE would be cool, the only thing is I'd have only half the interest, since I played the original (I never played the original RE) but again, seeing Meryl again would be worth it.

It was reported at EGM and IGN two of the more respected sites on the web, A guy from Konami hinted at it and ive read that NOE has confirmed it. It might seem illogical, but why? Couldnt Nintendo pay Money hats like Microsoft did for Susbstance? Its not that impossible. I for one am happy and i hope its a remake of the NES Metal Gear

A number of smaller, mostly-reputable, European sites put up a rumor and everyone thinks it's real = We've seen it time and time again.

A number of smaller, mostly-reputable, European sites put up a rumor, then update saying they've all personally gotten verbal confirmation of it from Nintendo of Europe. Then even the Administrator of Konami's message boards pops up and says "Well, the secret's out of the bag now, so I might as well confirm it. It's true." = Not exactly common.

It seems that the game is coming out. If you still want to discuss if the game is coming  out or not, you should go to the MGS thread in the talkback.. I'm changing the topic to Metal Gear Solid Discussion.

So far I only heard about a GCN-GBA link and Konami hiring the original actors for additional voices.
