According to this we're going to hear something new about Revolution at GDC, which takes place next month.

The article speculates it will be release date and pricing info, imagine if they announced all that without showing games? Their E3 conference would then have even MORE hype. I'm personally hoping they hold out everything until E3, then blow their entire load in my face, but E3 is a long way away and I need something to feed me...

There's also the possibility that the Rev will come out so shortly after E3 that they need to get retailers prepared.

Ninty won't be showing the games off, that's pretty much guaranteed...But laying out the release date and price, and perhaps even one of the remaining secrets (I'm confident there is more than one more) would be fantastic...

This isn't really news. We all knew they would give us a tidbit, a little sampling if you will, before E3.

I believe she's a character from one of the Guilty Gear games.

Didn't I read somewhere that they would show off products at GDC? Or was that something else? It probably won't be the Revolution, though, the big guns are for E3.

That's a he. For traditional reasons his parents decided to bring him up as a girl. My avatar, OTOH, is a genuine she. Well, she was a he before she got hit on the head with an alien mothership and the aliens reassembled him but decided to change his sex just for laughs.

I imagine Iwata's speech at GDC will be more Nintendo patting themselves on the back for accomplishments only they notice. The last few speeches have been big "we're changing the industry" ego strokes with lots of talk and no action. So I imagine this will be the same. Iwata will talk about how big of a deal the Rev is but won't actually show anything to prove it.

A release date and price would be nice but it's pretty weird for them to reveal that kind of info before we see any games. The more Nintendo reveals without showing any games the harder it is to shake the feeling that they're hiding something. Why are they trying to build hype with everything but the actually product itself? The games are everything.

OK, *I* could have told you guys that something would be going down at GDC. This isn't worth a 'news story.'

Anyways, I suspect Ian is right - probably not too much new info, lots of patting on back. But we will get SOMETHING. I mean, it would be way too stupid, even for Nintendo, not to take advantage of GDC. If I were them, I'd come out of the blue and show something big, a couple of months before E3 - show us that they've leading us on the whole time. Of course, there's no way that's gonna happen, but as I said - we will get SOMETHING. What that something is I don't know what, but I'm pretty sure we'll get it.

It'd be wise to at least whet the appetites of Rev fans and potential Rev fans alike with a 30 second movie with some, you know, game footage.

It would still allow E3 to be all that it can be without spilling the beans ahead of time and it would give everyone more reason to look forward to E3.

Right now, I'm curious but not exactly expecting much. If I had some idea of what to expect (and it looked good), I'd probably be more inclined to work myself into a techno-lust frenzy like I've done in the past (GBA SP and DS both caused it, Rev has yet to do so).

I dunno, I think 30 seconds of footage of some "part" of a game could stir things up without dropping any REAL bombs...

They should show the 2000 SW Zelda reel again and act like it's brand new footage. "Ya see that flash at the end? Not pre-rendered." Then move on to the pie graphs and more non-gamer speeches.

This being a Developer show. They should have a tutorial on how to make a quick game on the Rev using the controller. Give them the models and like. Just something that could be done in a two hour tutorial. Then show those to everyone.

Do you mean the visuals will reveal the unique gameplay or that the console itself has some unique graphic style or capabilities?

I more hoping for a "hope for the future" speech from him with a trailler of up comming rev titles that actually reveals no titles at all.
