I've been reading random Wikipedia articles. Good stuff.
« on: January 24, 2006, 08:50:47 AM »
I looked up:
SUPER MARIO
LEGEND OF ZELDA
SAMUS ARAN
OPTIMUS PRIME
ADA WONG

Good stuff.  I already knew a lot of stuff there, but it's a good reference.  Also, obscure facts.  I didn't know an American legally changed his name to Optimus Prime.  o_0

Somehow I get the feeling Wikipedia is a good source for character bios.  Probably because official sources won't tell you everything, and Wikipedia is probably updated more frequently from like everyone who knows anything at all about them.

Does anyone here have their own Wikipedia bio?

*goes to look up ex-PGC guy Billy Berghammer and Louie the Cat*

EDIT: Nothing.  I must've spelled their names wrong.

Completely unrelated, but I used to know a guy who changed his name to Superman Prophets.  Or maybe it was Superman Profits.  I can't remember.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

I suppose I'll ask Wikipedia the next time I need bio information for some character I know next to nothing about.

My friends and I are trying to form our own wikipedia article, but they keep deleting it.  We keep trying, though.

Wikipedia is cool.  I find it useful when I'm trying to find out details about certain films/directors/actors or whatever I'm interested in film-wise, especially.

Morons on wikipedia keep deleting whatever I write. Like the known fact that George Foreman has no fingerprints.
So anyway I was in the shopping center demanding to know where they kept the western potatoes when Drive Safe came around with Simple Plan blaring out telling me that driving on the wrong side of the road is ok if the other guy is drunk while I immediately jumped on my dirt racer to zoom out of ther

I hate wikipedia, I cant help to hit the random link and start jumping from article to article, from fascism to pokemon, to a point when I overload of information and feel dizzy for a while.

I used to be addicted to Wikipedia. But I banned myself from using it for 3 months, and after that it was OK

Mr. Rogers -> Batman (via Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny (Newgrounds animation))
Batman -> Spider-Man (I'm sure there was a DC/Marvel crossover SOMEwhere/SOMEtime)
Spider-Man -> Optimus Prime (Transformers G1 comic #2)
Optimus Prime -> Solid Snake (In that wacky crossover fighting game...what was it called? DreamMix TV World Fighters? (GCN))
Solid Snake -> Silicon Knights (Twin Snakes version of MGS for GCN)
Silicon Knights -> Pious Augustus (Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem (GCN)).

I win!

Not through Wikipedia, but I'm sure I might be close to how it would be.  The first link is weak as it's unofficial fan stuff, but whatever.

BTW, your post was 3:33, and you mentioned Pious.  OMG ETERNAL DARKNESS REFERENCES.

The animal articles can be pretty interesting too.  Check out the entry for the platypus and you'll probably learn a few crazy things.  Also, while you have to be wary of spoilers, it can help by breaking down details in shows like Bleach.
