Nintendo DS SP?

Reggie hints at a revamped DS,
Quote

Fils-Aime hinted a revamped DS is in the works: "As soon as [the DS] was launched, we started looking at ways to tweak it visually."

I think this is a bad idea because the DS is already perfect, and putting a new one on the market will only confuse consumers even more, i mean there's already GBA SP, GBM, DS, PSP, and those are just the major ones.

How could they improve it anyway? I can't think of anything. Nothing is necessary, leave the DS on the market by itself for a few years and gain some stability Nintendo. Of course, he could just mean alternate colours, which is fine.

Relax it'll probably be after a few years, anf even then it'll be something minor, like a smaller size or bigger screens

Nothing big about having an SP. Surely we all expected it.

Bigger face buttons (A,B,X,Y) would be nice.

Well, they made them small so they could be used as an alternate D-Pad...

I knew this was coming, it was just bound to happen. Pocket, SP, and Micro. It won't affect anything, it will just cost a tad more and people like me will buy it even though there are already 3 DS's in the house.  And It will most likely look sleeker to attract people who are not willing to buy it now because it doesn't look as cool as the PSP.

How about being able to reconfigure the buton layout for GBA games? That's NEEDED. And if it's just like the SGB that allows you to select whether B should be A or B (and Y is always B). Larger buttons would be very nice too, Gunstar Future Heroes is very good at pointing out the awful flaws in the design.

I knew there was a reason i hadn't bought it yet, but i couldn't exactly pin-point it.

My guess is that they'll show something at E3 to spark the interest back up again. If not....meh, I guess I can wait.

That's a good one KDR, also I thought about it and maybe new DS's could come with Pictochat 2.0 with online compatability, but then they'd have to find a way to let existed DS owners have that. I still don't think that's enough to warrent a redesign.

I just want the clicky buttons to go away.  I like to be able to play in silence.

I'm guessing they're just looking for ways to make the touch screen more damage resistant.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

No improvements on the DS? It could be smaller, lighter, and more ergonomic. The DS isn't the most comfortable handheld to hold. They could make it have a longer battery life. And a slot for a longer stylus.

Those buttons on that Photochop look awfully uncomfortable. Why are they rotated like that? You can't even use the Y+B axis on that!

I still like the original E3 DS model better. it seemed more sexy than what we got.
