Wifi Commercial
« on: November 09, 2005, 07:22:59 PM »
I didn't see a thread, so post you opinions of Nintendo's wifi commercial.

I personally thought it was a great commercial.  It was one of those commecials where you have no idea what is going on until the end but it does a really great job of keeping interest (by way of ninjas ).  I haven't done anything with the DS online, but it looks like Nintendo has finally come to play.

I haven't seen this commercial yet

BUT, I have seen plenty of DDR Mario Mix adverts and I just saw Mario Party 7, both of them were pretty good.  The DDR one is about two guys having a dance off, mildy interesting.  The MP7 one though goes back to the giant costumes.  It's not as amusing as the house party one where they're skiing off the roof into a pool, but I'm glad to see them using the costumes again =D

Link to video from IGN.

Even if you're boycoting IGN, watch it to take their bandwith.

Awesome commercial!! I also like how Nintendo mentioned and showed off the Tony Hawk footage first, rather than just showing all Mario Kart, and saying Tony hawk also available.

Very creative ad. The message was clearly put across, it had gameplay footage and it had Ninjas! What more could you want?

Honestly, now that Ninty has their online plan set up, they need a really big seller for it. Sure there's Metroid Prime: Hunters, but would it really be too much for Nintendo to ask Sierra to port Tribes 2 to the DS? (Hey, I can dream, can't I?)

I saw another commercial for it today on Spike.  It was really cool, it had people watching nascar, and they would throw stuff at their tv, whatever they threw at the tv landed on the cars.  then it said "control the race from anywhere arond the world" (or something similar to that).

It was a really cool commercial, Nintendo's marketing is really improving

I still insist that Nintendo's commercials were never bad.  Maybe infrequent, and maybe a few were subpar, but the quality of their commercials is completely underexaggerated.  Many of them are quite clever and cool, and nearly all of them are well made.

I never said it would be a system seller. I just really loved Tribes 2.
