 Australian Official Attempting to Remove Mature Video Game Ban.

It seems there's a lawyer in Australia who is attempting to un-ban violent video games.  Hurray!

Out of curiosity, what big name titles (besides the obvious ones) are banned in Australia?  Any surprising ones?  Are the ones you get edited like they are in Germany (e.g. instead of people with red blood you kill robots with green blood)?

God bless him. ;_; The latest game to get refused classification was the 50 Cent game, due to drug use. Same reason NARC got banned. A lot of games manage to make it through under the maximum rating, MA 15+, such as Carmageddon, RE4 and Ninja Gaiden, which were edited for Germany. It's a crazy system. Die Hard on GC, which was rated 18+ in the UK, got released here with a PG rating (8 years and over).

So, wait, instead of allowing inappropriate games to be labeled as only being appropriate for adults, adult games are just re-labeled so that it appears that they're appropriate for younger kids?

I suppose porn in your country is labeled as 'kid's educational programming'?

naw just some polly who proberly got contacted by a bunch of school kids
he thought it was good to rep these kids, so he released a press release of himself speaking for the people of australia
few online media places run the story and gets a 4line artical inside the papers at page 89
Mean while australians could care less, cause the porn industry as been turned into pirated porn and burnt R rated games are easy to find from ur mate

See, this is the problem with the funhouse lifestyle. Sure, funhousuals SAY their deviant behavior has no affect on society at large and that funhousuality can't spread to non-funhousuals....but this thread is clear evidence otherwise! Here we are, decent Reggie-fearing individuals discussing serious gamecube related topics, and then, bam! funhousuality rears it's ugly head.
