That an easy one to do. If your going up a hill and want to fly OB just hit R at the right time and you will go flying, get more air if you do shrooms.

Ah this sucks, so I finally got my DS (YES!) but, I got a damn dead pixel and Mario Kart was nowhere to be found

On the release week of the DS Nintendo was saying that 1 dead pixel is all you need. Just give Nintendo a call and KINDLY air your grievance. That or take the DS back to the store and get it exchanged for a defect free DS.

The dead pixel isnt my biggest complain, is the lack of Mario Kart ;_; the dead pixel isnt as annoying I thought they were, but hopefully the store will change it back, you see, I didnt aquire my DS in the most legal store so to speak, but thats the way every single video game store is around here, so theres a big chance they wont change it back, and I dont think that Nintendo latinamerica will be kind enough to repair it/change it. Sometimes I think that Nintendo LA is probably just an office in Miami, there presence is almost non existant.

But to not be that off topic, I have Mario Kart Super Circuit and I suck at it, you guys are going to destroy me once I get the chance to be online

mantidor, MKDS controls a lot different to Super Circuit, I sucked at Super Circuit but i'm better with this, so maybe you wont suck THAT much.

I'm annoyed at how often wusses disconnect when they come in last place. It's a rare occurance to finish an entire circuit with all four players intact.

One time, all three disconnected after I came in first on the first race.

Yea, its pretty rediculus how petty some players are. Just this evening, I signed on for a quick game. I was not in the lead for most of the game, but finished 1st because someone in 3rd or 4th fired a blue spiney shell. I heard it coming and hit the brakes so as not to get cought in the explosion. Everyone disconnected the start of the 2nd race... I don't get it, but whatever its easy enough to find a new set of players.

It is pretty amazing what folks do. In real life no one gets away with that with me. 31 Flavas, you got a new racer friend who wont disconnect just because of loosing, I take my loses proudly.

Some one explain to me this. Lets say at the start I race 3 other people and win. Thats 3 points for me; then  all but one disconnects at the second race. I then win all four races, do I get the extra 2 points from the first race or since they disconnected it doesnt count since they didn't finish?

Uh... you don't get points from individual races, all that matters is the ranking at the end of the 4 races, if you win all 4 races against one person, you get one win. If someone disconnects in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd race, on your record it's like they never existed.

Which, of course, sucks if you're playing for points but doesn't really matter if you're playing for the match.

When you get at least a star in all  modes and cups you earn a Star for your nick name. Is it just placed on automaticly or do you have to add it in when you edit your nick name? Im not sure wether the star on the key board has been there the entire time and its just generic or if thats what I earned for getting at least one star in everything.

It has been there the entire time, the star in question is yellowish and appears above the username in actual matches.

Wow, this is the first I've heard of this...

Is it right to assume that achieving at least 2 stars in everythign will nab you a second star?

I'm not sure how it's done, but I have seen people online with 2 stars above their name so that seems like a likely conclusion.

I have a question about the Friend Roster, what is the purpose of that lock/unlock button beside each name?

Another question, why is that I've been able to play with just one other player online (in regional/worldwide/same-skill options) but not with just one friend when the friend-icon is flashing?

You can play a 1-on-1 friend game, you just have to wait awhile so the timmer (assuming both you and the friend are attempting to join a "friend game") will run out as it waits for others to connect.

The only functional purpose that I can tell so far is that when locked, you can't accidentially delete them from your roster when you are cleaning house, so to speak.  I've heard rumours that locked friends connect faster to wifi games than unlocked, but I think it's a load of crap.

Locked ones are given a priority in match-making.  It says so in the manual somewhere.  What that means is that, if 4 people on your friends list are searching for a game, and you have 3 of them locked, those three should be who you play.

May I just say the online in this game may be simple, but it ROCKS. It's exactly what I've always wanted in Mario Kart. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose! Usually the latter. But better than always beating the computer!

Seriously, I dislike having to choose a car other than the Egg 1, and yet that car is still so much faster.

Especially online, all I ever get item wise are mushrooms, despite being in 2nd (Last)

Dueling totally sucks online, and the car balance is equally terrible. For the love of god why wont Nintendo fix something like this?
