Uhm... are you purposefuly trying to icite or flame? In regards to both comics, it's culture shock.  And, so called "hardcore" gamers are, of course, going to be affected the worst by it.

I could understand this/these comics posted elsewhere, say Penny-arcade forums, evilavatar, or some xbox/playstation website, heck, even in General Chat or Other Systems. To me, at least, it only serves to incite or flame posted here. Now I'm not tripping all over myself to praise Nintendo for Revolutions controller, as the comic might suggest, but i'm am pleasntly surprised. I guess I would "get it" more if I rejected Revolutions controller more. On the subject though, is it really that difficult to imagine a way to play Smash Bros.?

I also went straight to stage 2...unless you count my initial "WHA?" as a stage even though it only lasted maybe thirty seconds...in that case I simply had a different first stage.

I love the controller, plain and simple.  The design of it is elegant and the unlimited amount of possibilities it can bring to gaming is quite endless.  I just found it hard to resist something in which Pikachu (my arch nemesis in SSB:M against my Puff) is thrown around.

And for all of those profusely rejecting the Revolution controller, a 4th stage, where they accept it or even prefer it.

But the comic author of course doesn't include this stage, it wouldn't incite response.

I came in here expecting hilarity, or failing that, the chance to be an ass.

Feeding a chain of thought to a crudely drawn character doesn't make it funny.

Actually the intent was humor, after visiting dozens, upon dozens of boards, reading editorials and blogs over the past few weeks, I noticed that most gamers seemed to go through these stages, first thinking nintendo was crazy, then thinking its pretty cool, then wondering how they'll play their old games on it.

So when I saw that someone had drawn a comic which captured what I had witnessed over the past few weeks it made me laugh.

Heck just look at these boards and you'll see people in these stages.

LOL my brother's reaction was also amusing. I showed him the teaser video and he seemed very uninterested, and I was explaining him that was Nintendo's next console to which he replayed "oh, thats true, its that time again for new consoles with the xbox 2 coming and all, right?" but he seemed totally and completly uninterested still, to which the following conversation followed:

"what do you think of the controller, did you see it?"
"yup, its actually a "controller" now" (here we use the same word for the TV remote and the console controller, simply the "controller"),
" but didnt you saw what it does?"
"what are you talking about?"
"it has motion sensing... didnt you get that from the video!?"
"what!? you mean... like... *waves hand* and it reacts in the game?  wow! really? awesome!".

Now hes in the "how I am going to play current games?" stage. Hopefully Nintendo will show soon some software content, because seriously everyone is craving for it.

Heh, I was:

Phase 1 - ???Confused???

Phase 2 - Watched Teaser Video and I was "HOLY WICKED COW, WICKED, WICKED, WICKED, WICKED, WICKED..."

Phase 3 - Now I'm like "I would buy it today even without NRGs available".

Oh btw, this guy that works with me and is also a Nintendo acolyte said the controller looked homosexual, to which I warned him that if he would say it again I would punch his fugly face .
