I don't know how many of you liked the first one(True Crime: Street of LA), but a trailer is up for the new one

True Crime: New York City

Its very movie trailer like, looks like fun, I'll probably buy it once it hits the $20.00 bin

trailer auto loads once you click link (56k user approximate wait time.......30minutes )

Cool. As long as it doesn't have as many bugs as the first game, it should be good.

I think I heard (Christopher) Walken voicing one of the characters in the trailer. You can't go wrong with Walken.

Why?.... is it still too soon to joke about it? assuming that is what he was talking about

did anybody watch the VMA's this year? there was this part where P Diddily Daddy Puff played a Biggie song* to an orchestra and one of the lines in the song was "about to blow up like the World Trade" and they cut out the words "World Trade" does that mean its still too sensitive of a subject to even metaphorically mention too?

* the song was written back in the early to mid 90's

It does look interesting.  I like the premise alot, actually.

I never played the first one...but this looks promising.

Alas...I've gotten so used to swinging around New York with Spiderman, that being stuck on the ground isn't going to be very much fun at all!

Christoper Walken rocks hard.  You have no idea how many movies I've bought based on the fact that he's in them, having not ever seen the movie before.

As for this, games are more expensive.  The first True Crime (played some on Xbox) was alright, the best part was car chases.  But I don't think I'd buy it.

And 9/11?  Call me a bastard, but my friends and I were joking about it the day we heard it, and have continued to since.  Does it mean we don't care?  No.  But I don't see why we should impose limits on laughter.

Tell me you have True Romance. Dennis Hopper and Christopher Walken equals one of the best scenes in cinema.

Did I hear some one say True Romance? That is one good sex of a Q.T. movie.  Makes me want to see Domino really bad.

I own(ed) Suicide Kings, but I lost it and can't find it anywhere.  I guess I'll have to get another copy, it's an awesome movie.

Suicide Kings sucked.  The only reason I bought it was because it was cheaper than renting it.

Gun looks promising, but it's hard to say at this point.

Okay, I'll give you that.  The parts with Leary were pretty good.  But the parts with the whiney kids got old fast.  Especially the kid who looked like he wanted to be Ferris Bueller.

Early Impressions of the Game:

This is much better than the original.  It is more straightforward and I'm actually finding myself not feeling like I'm in a collect-a-thon because you can use the Subways and Cabs to get around.  I'll post a review soon.

I picked this up earlier today and just played it for about 90 minutes or so. The good news is that this game is fun. It is just as entertaining as the original. The bad news is that none of the flaws from the original title have been corrected (collision detection, camera and frame rate), as a matter of fact the frame rate problems are much worse (more frequent) and there seems to be a near-crippling camera problem when in a tight place (the screen goes black, as the camera is stuck inside a wall of whatever bulding you might be in) and nothing I have tried has been able to adjust the camera. I had to power my GameCube off and end my game.

Reviews have sucked...

EDIT: Sorry, I said that after seeing only the Gamespot review (4.6 out of 10).  I guess it seems all right.  I know this is off topic but I"m having a blast with GUN if anyone's interested in another sandbox game.

The xbox version got a 4.3 on gamespot which makes it the worst version because of a big bug that makes the game unbeatable. Anyways I just don't understand why GTA gets away with collision detection and bad graphics, the occasional glitches, bad camera framerate issues and the horrible popup while games like True Crime gets blasted at will. Anyways besides gamespot other review sites gave this game in the 7's range.

I purchased the game, and its definately a mixed bag.  There are time when the game looks good, has a solid framerate, and controls well, but then there are times when none of that is there.  The True Crime series has alot of potential, and hopefully they will continue on the next gen systems.

The game was ripped apart on videoGaiden, but given praise as a 'good bad game', if you will.

"...it suffers the same fate as a lot of these games. It's always got one big, fat, wobbly eye on Grand Theft Auto."

That about sums up every 'sandbox' game since 2001.

I rented it and will be returning it tonight or possibly early tomorrow.  I think I've done nearly all that I could with this game.

While enjoyable, for some reason I liked True Crime: Streets of LA a lot more.  New York City isn't as memorable.  A good game that takes place New York is Def Jam: Fight For New York, and I don't even listen to rap, or much music, really...
