Could this be close to the REV controller?
« on: August 23, 2005, 04:10:06 PM »
http://www.nintendo-fanboy.com/Blogs/News/hqs/blr_364.aspx

This photo is fake and is just used as a representation of the idea they are trying to get across.

I think it would be hard to rotate the controller and play at the same time.  The idea behind it is unique and very much like the rumble pack.

this is what i am guessing the big deal is too, perfect for FPS games like metroid/halo you can feel the response from the guns you are firing, plus motion sensors would let you aim perfect as well.

Wasn't there some N64 or Playstation controller like that?  I remember seeing it in EGM back in 1997.  In fact that picture looks like a photoshop of the very picture from the mag.

Strikes me as a bad idea (not the split-in-the-middle and gyros but the shape of that thing). What's next, the Dual Strike?

This is another rumored Rev leak that has made the rounds in a few forums.  This PDF supposed to Nintendo's concept model for its Rev controller that its showing 3rd parties at the moment.

http://dbfilms.net/NintendoRevolution.pdf

Many have already disproven its credibility stating that the blurred out text was copied from a Sony PDF.  What I wonder though is why would the author of this create it with such a glaring mistake? Couldn't they just simply not even include text or use a Nintendo related pdf to copy from? I have yet to see the picture though so I can't comment on it myself. I'm waiting for my ridiculously slow cable modem to finish dling adobe acrobat .

Its almost as if they wanted it to get debunked so quickly. Could the pictures of the control be real but the Sony pdf text have been used to discredit it? In that way they can actually reveal the controller but have people simpley write it off as fake, thus they avoid getting in much trouble from Nintendo. If you reveal something your not supposed to but no one believes you, then in a way, you haven't revealed anything lol.

Damn if that is the controller then Nintendo has thought of just about everything.  What couldn't you do with the controller?

but why and how would you pull the analog stick out while actually playing a game?

this controller seems to be a compilation of every rumor out there(minus the hot and cold pads)

speaker
mic
analog stick doubles as a button
scroll wheels
360 degree tilt and motion including left and right
stereo rumble (left , center left, full center, right center, right)
pressure grips
screen attachment
GB(next?) compatable (fully b/c)
expansion slots
SD card slot
? moveable controls? switch d-pad w/ analog stick?
keyboard and mouse and other wireless attachments (remote & headphone w/ mic)
did I leave anything out?

oh yeah, whats a magnetic touch pad? and whats it to be used for?

that is a feature set that could not be matched by another next-gen machine and expected to be adopted by most developers.  But how is this all supposed to work on rechargeable batteries w/o having to recharge every 20 minutes?

Not saying I believe that this is real, but if it was I know I would say WOW!!!

I also like how the document has exactly 21 pages.

p.s. This is my 1000th post

Well you'll notice that some PDAs and touchscreens (like those on a Tablet PC) only work with a special magnetic stylus. That would prevent accidental touching, but it would also require use of a metal disc or stylus, as they suggested. They also say that a person could use "the finger." All joking aside, this would point to some sort of accessory you wear on your finger because human flesh obviously isn't magnetic.
Thanks for listening.

Heh.  The only thing that controller is good for is a laugh.  Funny prank though.

I don't think you guys understand.  This is not intended to be the actual controller.  It is merely a mockup demonstration.  The whole point is to make an argument towards the centrifugal feature.

...I just saw that PDF on Gamespot and came here to post it, and honestly, it looks pretty legit.  And that text doesn't look like it's necessarily blurred just for the sake of it, because you can make out a few of the words...I saw "Game Boy" somewhere in there...
