Third-Party Stylus?
« on: July 07, 2005, 10:41:32 AM »
I found this today over at the gamefaqs.com boards.  Nintendo DS Stylus Upgrade

While this particular one seems a bit pricey, I like the thought of getting a new stylus that has a bit more substance than the default one.  Can anyone recommend a good replacement stylus, preferably one made out of metal?  Has anyone used the one in the link?  Is it really worth $14.95 plus $4.25 S&H?  Does anyone know a better source?

Edit:  Changed title of thread
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

I think i have heard good things about the battle stylus. I can't really remember if it was just people thinking it was cool because it was metal, or from actual experiance though.

It's called the "battle stylus".

The name alone is almost enough to warrant a purchase.

If I had a spare $20 lying around, I'd probably buy it myself.

As for whether or not it's worth $20....thats up to you to decide.

I mean, I wasted $40 on a The Cheat plushie, so...yeah.

Ahh, the battle stylus...

I've read several reviews on this and all have been unanimous in saying: its an awesome upgrade from the stock stylus.
Whether or not its worth $15 (for some pretty pricey for a little stick, metal or no) depends on you. For example, are you really hating the current stylus for its lack of heft? Because the battle stylus will definitely help in that department...supposedly its tip helps with accuracy a bit as well.

Personally, I'm very tempted to try one out and may do so in the near future now that I have DS games that are really compelling.

Nintendo really should make some better styli that they sell seperately.  People really trust Nintendo products, so if they were a little irked with their current stock stylus, they could upgrade but still keep the Nintendo name.  Oh what a beautiful country we live in!  I'm getting teary eyed...

Personaly i just went to staples and bought a pack of 4 metal stylus' for $20 and I've never been happier. It works better than the one that nintendo packed in with the system. Its longer and sturdier and just all around better. My high scores in Meteos doubled! I'll never use the nintendo stylus again.

But do they fit into the stylus slot on the DS? If not that would be a huge hassle.

I'd hate to bump this old thread but speaking of styli, Nintendo sent me an e-mail offering the pink kirby stylus.
In case you cared.
