GTA: Liberty City Stories (pics)

Well apparently Joystiq has some leaked pictures of the new GTA for the PSP.  If this is what it really looks like then it might be good.

But I'm still pissed about Kutargi's comments about the PSP and I refuse to buy one.  Anyways here's the link

PSP GTA  Hot damn that's alot of random letters.

So I can rape real people in the game? Sounds like a worthwhile purchase...
*removes sarcasm hat*

Pardon my sarcasm - I just don't like GTA. And don't badger me about it, because I could pull out my copy of San Andreas and gouge some nice grooves in the disc to show you how much I don't care...

Yeah, those pictures may or may not be legit it doesn't matter I am completely not interested in that game.

I absolutely hate the concept, the direction, the entire franchise of Grand Theft Auto.  And yes I have played the game, and for the most part it really doesn't interest me.

I would predict obviously online is the next direction to take the series and that doesn't surprise me.  What I want to know is how will it affect the gameplay?  I don't see GTA in 3D being the best game to bring online.

You could play the original GTA multiplayer as well over a null modem cable. It wasn't that fun though.

I think the game's going to sell well... but whether or not it'll actually sell PSPs remains to be seen.

There was a mod for GTA3/Vice City on PC called Multi Theft Auto, it was very crappy when I played though, there was no traffic or pedestrians and only a few people on one huge map, it takes a while to actually run into someone, it was empty, but this was just an unofficial thing. If Rockstar implemented properly into a GTA title it would be awesome, there's so many possibilities.

You could also play GTA 2 over LAN. It wasn't fun, either. GTA lives from you being the badass, you being able to take on thirty cops alone, you hijacking cars and killing pedestrians. When suddently the pedestrians got rocket launchers or flamethrowers, the other cars try to maul you and those other guys can kill you within seconds it gets a whole lot less fun. Never mind that the maps are large enough that you have to drive five minutes to see another player, compared to fighting for five seconds until one of you is dead (usually the guy without a car loses). There's no way to fix this. You could make the city less empty by making it massively multiplayer but that would be less GTA and more urban warfare.
