First info?

Confirmed that 'snagging' is back...

If thats the only way to catch pokemon I'm gonna be pissed.

Starting with Evee is a cool concept though.

Dark pokemon should definately play a role in every pokemon game from here on out...it should only be a small role though.

Anyway, I'm sure this thread can take off 5 days from now...

I will remain skeptical about whether or not this game is going to be our dream 3D rpg.

EDIT::  Make sure you click on the image in the link above to see more screens.

Until I read that you play a Pokemon trainer catching wild Pokemon and traveling to gyms to collect badges I will assume this is just Colloseum 2.  That's what everyone wants and it boggles my mind that Pokemon first came to Japan 9 years ago and Nintendo still hasn't delivered.

Snagging is back?  I've never EVER met a Pokemon fan who liked that concept.  If that horrible concept is back odds are pretty good this won't be the dream Pokemon RPG we've wanted for years.  Why would they make something like that at the end of the Cube's life anyway?  They've got the Colloseum design already made and they know that Pokemon fans will buy any piece of crap they release so why would they suddenly be inspired to make the dream Pokemon game?  Their past attitude towards Pokemon suggests otherwise and from a business persceptive it would make sense to save the "good" 3D Pokemon RPG for the Rev.

As weak as I think the snagging concept is, at least it gives people the opportunity to get pokemon from the past games.
As much as I'd like a full fledged Pokemon RPG on a console, Nintendo might as well save it for when it internet enables consoles, otherwise there wouldn't really be trading.

Now I wish people would actually hold judgement until we actually get substantial info on the game, but that isn't likely going to happen is it!?

Saying snagging is good to catch old pokemon is dumb in my opinion...  Is it that unheard of to make those old pokemon wild?

As for waiting for an online console, you are right... They should wait for an online console to enable trading and online fighting..possibly even MMO.

BUT, they should be releasing a 10/10 Single player game that uses great 3D mechanics so they can learn how to make the MMO style game better... =P

I am holding judgment...like I said... I'm just remaining very skeptical as to not be completely pissed off if it does turn on to be Col. 2.

"Now I wish people would actually hold judgement until we actually get substantial info on the game"

This game looks like Colloseum and Nintendo has a reputation for releasing substandard Pokemon games for a quick buck.  All of the Cube Pokemon games are total crap.  Why would THIS game suddenly buck the trend?  Nintendo recently released the dismal Pokemon Dash and just released another rehash in Emerald so it's not like there's any indication that their attitude towards Pokemon has changed.

I think the next EA Bond game is going to suck.  My reasoning for this is because the last EA Bond game sucked and all of the EA Bond games are average at best.  Would you say I'm jumping to conclusions by thinking that?  Should I wait until I get more information?  Nintendo has a similar reputation for console Pokemon games.  Snap was okay, all the rest were crap.  It's incredibly optimistic to assume that maybe this time things are going to change.  If I'm wrong then I'll be very pleasantly surprised and I'll buy the game if it's good.  But it's naive to assume that it might be a good or that we should wait until we get more info.  I hope Nintendo turns 3D Pokemon around but I'm not going to torture myself by being optimistic for each Pokemon game they reveal.

On the flip side I assume the next Zelda will rule and I have since the game was first annouced.  I've intentionally kept myself in the dark on many of its features so I don't actually have any solid evidence that it will be good.  But it's still a fair assumption because Zelda's reputation paints it as a consistently good series.  On consoles Pokemon's reputation paints it as a half-assed cash-in.  A series' reputation is perfect cause for assumption.

I bought Pokemon Blue the day it came out...I also bought Pokemon Silver on the first day, was disappointed by it, and "quit" as a Pokemon fan...Then I found myself playing an imported copy of Pokemon Ruby and I fell in love with Pokemon yet again...I have been a Pokemon fan ever since, so I never want to see my love for a series ever questioned again...

And yes I DID enjoy snagging, and loved the adventure in Pokemon Colosseum...The problems I saw with it was that the areas in the game were separated into "stages" instead of a full world and that the game was a little short...And also the catching wild Pokemon part, but I enjoy the snagging portion of the game...Noone here can guess if these changes have been applied from a simple scan, sorry to say...

Heh...I love quotes like that... where did they get their info?  They have no source or anything, but hearing that continues to hurt the theory that it is a true Pokemon RPG in the sense of the GB games.

I pretty much disagree with nearly every direction the Pokemon franchise has ever gone and this game only looks to continue it's foray into weak territory. Why do they insist on stuff like "Oh yeah these 100 species were jsut recently discovered" despite some of these new species being the size of tanks and common. It just kills me some of the bullshit they come up with. Few franchises have as much potential as Pokemon yet they continue to squander it.

I'm a huge Pokemon fan, love all the games in the main series, and Pokemon Colloseum is one of the worst games i've ever played. They completely butchered the Stadium mode from the N64 ones and gave us a terribly generic RPG that feels like it was made from some untalented western company using a level editor Atari gave them as a freebie for signing up to their fanclub. However it did have some decent music.

This looks to reignite everything I hate about Pokemon Colloseum, so unless new information proves me wrong, i'll pass.

I'd be tempted to buy it just for Lugia though =(

I got Colloseum on release day, and I STILL haven't finished it! *L* I just got to a point where I said "Y'know, this really isn't all that much FUN." I quit for a while, picked it back up and got as far as what I'm assuming is the final level (where you face all the bosses again) and I just did not want to play anymore. The battles just seem like they take forever, and the Pokemon level up at such a slow pace, I simply got bored. Which is a shame. It has so much potential, if they'd just liven it up a bit.

Oh, and never been a fan of the "Snag" move.

when I noticed on the pic that he had a snag arm I sighed
I will proberly still buy it thu, being that it will proberly be the last rpg released on cube

edit: Also hope they add some mini games
Also should have a way of unlocking all the promo pokemon, since they will all be sitting there never used again once the DS games come out and might as well let the fans use them for a while. Like my 2 mew's on red.

I'm assuming that since DS games can detect if GBA paks are still in the unit (such as Pokemon Dash will build new tracks from the Pokemon GBA games), it wouldn't be that difficult to transfer over GBA Pokemon into the DS games.

If the DS pokemon games are online in some form or another (which they sure as hell should be) I DON'T want them to allow transferring pokemon from old games, unless they have an intricate cheater detection when those pokemon are used in an online match.  Maybe by some stroke of luck there is a flaw in any gameshark related pokemon that is detectable so if that pokemon was about to be used in a match, the DS could display some nast message about the player being a cheater or something.  Compare that with a bonus disc Jirachi or pokemon event Mew which would count as legitimate pokemon.

I believe it was Reggie who acknowledged that Colloseum wasn't a "true" Pokémon RPG...he went on to state that XD would fulfill that demand...

Edit: Also, online Pokémon for DS is fine, but no MMORPG...online battling/trading would be fine.  Leave the MMO-ing to Rev.

I feel the same way, but I do think it could be interesting if the MMO was developed for both simultaneously...  The gameboy games represent one world/country and the Rev title represent another.  Being able to take your character on the road would be sweet, but only if it didn't take anything away from teh true rev experience.

Online trading/battling/pokecontests should be a requirement for the first set of DS pokemon titles.

I played Pokemon Snap and one of the Gameboy ones.  The series never really hooked me, though I enjoyed the games while they lasted.  I'm just not a fan of that style of gameplay so I didn't get into it.  In short, I couldn't really care which direction this game went, but I hope it's good for everyone else's sake.

I think it doesnt transfer anything
It just unlocks by detecting the gba cart info, since so far:
pokemon dash unlocks more stages baised on patterns of pokemon
feel the magic unlocks clothes from sonic/sega games
Then again they may suprise us, but its unlikly since they ignored the fact is was possable for gc games to interact with gbplayer cart
