The Sims 2 coming to DS & GBA

From what I got from this, apparently the DS and GBA games will be vastly different from each other as opposed to The Urbz situation.  The GBA version will be 2D while the DS will get a completely 3D game, which by the way actually looks pretty good IMO.  There are also some game structural differences as well as the fact that the DS version will use the mic and touchscreen.  The big thing here however is that supposedly Maxis is talking about getting the DS game online through Nintendo's Wi-Fi infrastructure.  Any thoughts?

Wow EA are putting effort into another DS game, but i'm wondering, why? Casual gamers will buy it regardless and everyone else won't buy it regardless because it's by EA.

Im thinking that Sims on DS could be awesome. For starters the touchscreen negates any bullshit that the previous console games suffered with their shoddy controls. And there are the multiplayer possibilities, sharing Sims, neighborhoods, houses etc. Could be fist.

The game is looking quite nice so far, and its 3D for folks who don't know.
They are in discussions to have it go online, and they have also been experimenting with having special unlockables if both GBA Sims 2 and DS Sims 2 are plugged in at the same time.

The game is by Griptonite Software, for any of you who have played their GBA games (they did the Lord fo the Rings games among others, for instance).
