ShinyYellowishEye: Rogue Agent
« on: April 07, 2005, 02:44:28 PM »
one of the great advantages of the DS is the ability to play games multiplayer with only 1 game card. So far, few have shown this great ability off. Even Mr. Driller, a game I would have bought if it had the feature didn't. But it did in Japan, which was evil of them to exclude the feature. I am so glad that a full 3D game like GoldenEye: Rogue Agent will be able to run on the DS with the DS download feature. Mario 64's multiplayer was really lacking, and Metroid would be really fun, but the matches are too short/there's no customizability. That would be a cool word if it was real. Well anyways, I hope GE will turn out well, and also prove that the DS can have solid FPS's, so that if a developer wants to make a game, it can fall back on making a good FPS. And FPS's are one of the most popular games genres in the US. Also this game proves that the DS can have good graphics. It's nowhere near the PSP, but not that bad. I don't want the DS to be typecast into a system with only 2D games that use the touchscreen well.

It is looking good but iv'e played the console version.  It was horrendous.  Unless EA pulled off something spectacular id say its going to be a bad fps with good ol' mouse and keyboard style control.

well the game is made from scratch, so hopefully EA will see what needed to improve.

you know i was really impressed with GE DS specially the graphics, yeah it cant compare to the psp graphic wise but neither the ps2 to the GC, but im impressed to hear the ability to play 8 PLAYERS!!! with 1 cart. that's awesome so in case my friend doesnt have the game he can still play through the DS download.... i cant wait to see how this game fares up so it looks good its nice to see EA really involved with the DS now if they would make madden look like madden 99 look graphicly i would have a reason to buy it. i dont really like the graphics that madden ds sports...

I heard somewhere that Rogue Agent DS would have the same default controls as Metroit HUnters - can anyone confirm this?

well, there's really no other way to make a FPS on the DS that works as well as MPH. Traditional X/Y and mouse arrangement works best with them.

I heard that the face buttons or the D Pad (depending on which hand you're using the stylus for) would be used for Duck, reload and others (forgot what)

Is this true?

I gotta admit this game does look very good, but there's no way i'm buying a game associated with Rogue Agent, they need to change the name.
