Splinter Cell:Chaos Theory for DS A NO? NO?
« on: March 29, 2005, 11:22:18 PM »
Okay i love splinter cell ever since the first one camed out i loved everything about it the gameplay the graphics
i really think its better than MGS thats why i didnt care that the GC would'nt get a real MGS as long as we get SC
its cool. now i've seen a couple of screen of the nokia ngage ver of the game and i gotta say it looks pretty good now if they can do a 3D game running like that on the N-Gage now think about the posibilities on the DS with the touch screen use to pick locks, cut camera wires, you know stuff like that and of course a little better graphics.
No linking directly to image files please.
Do you guys think Ubi soft wont bring it out on DS? BUT WHY!!! it makes so much sense to realease it on the ds.

Chaos Theory is coming out for DS, sometime in June I believe. Sadly, it's just going to be a port of the 2D GBA version with crap touch screen menus or something.

bad move ubisoft... this has potential.. you could have your sticky cam/optical cord on the bottom screen, not to mention an easier, more intuitive gameplay interface (instead of the context sensitive button, they could have you touch the item/place and then sam will get in position to us it. )

meh.. i suck at game design
I'll shut up now...

Proof please?  That would be really dumb if they did that.  I'm inclined to think that even they'd believe that to be a complete waste of the system.

The N-Gage version has a terrible framerate, but it's still an awesome technical achievement. It'll be a shame if they don't even try with the DS version, and just port one of the rubbish GBA games.

It's possible the DS version might be a port of the N-Gage game.

UbiSoft did that with Asphalt: Urban GT DS...

Ubisoft's list didn't show a DS version of Splinter Cell.  Prince of Persia: WW was listed though.

It doesn't say whether it's 2D or 3D though

Not to revive an old forum, but the first pictures of Splinter Cell DS have hit and it is indeed 3-D.

Henshin a go go baby

So yeah, at least more people are putting work into their DS games, even if it is UbiSoft.

My word, good news. I guess the sales of the DS are finally waking some developers up, and they are interested in the capabilities

Infernal Monkey: There is no GBA version of SC CT. The DS version will be 3D.

Sorry to say, but I believe that pic is fake. Notice the gun ammo on the top and bottom screen. The top screen says 23 amo, while the bottom says 0.

I was beginning to think that too, but there's always hope for some good speculation.  Also I noticed that usually the image caputres from the DS are a little better looking and there's something like a black bar in between screens.  Needless to say, that even though this is fake, there could be some truth behind it.

That picture looks horrible.  I can't see that as being real, or even a good hoax.   Hell, it isn't even cropped correctly.  And the ammo thing is just blatant.

Um, games always show incorrect figures when still in development...The screenshot is a fake for other reasons, not the ammo counter...

Yeah, I could imagine they didn't implement the lower ammo display yet or just took two screenshots from different situations and pasted them together.

"wow, the cynicism....."

Technically, you're being cynical yourself.

Why is the gun pointed there in that one screenshot? No gun should ever be pointed there.

whatever, someone can't point out cynicism without being cynical? your loophole logic might fly with you but even by your own logic....what about you now?

yes I was being negative about the negativity, that doesn't mean I'm a cynic. Look it up. For the self-proclaimed position you supposedly hold here you should be smarter than that.

It was just ridiculous how everyone yelled fake as well as how everyone expected the same craptastic version the N-gage got right off the bat.  How about a little optimism? Am I the one exhibiting jaded negativity?

Nope, just the one pointing it out.....
