Why does Nintendo make it so hard to get accessories that a lot of people want?
I think it has to do with retailer complaints.
Every time Nintendo puts out some little product, and 90% of it sells, the retailer is stuck with the other 10%. Then the retailers start bitching at Nintendo, because it's obviously Nintendo's fault.
So if Nintendo puts out something like the Broadband Adaptor, or the GameCube Component Cable, or odd little knick-knacks like replacement thumbstraps, and retail looks at them kinda funny, saying "Oh, I don't know. Are you
sure that they're going to sell?" Nintendo is more and more saying "Fine. Screw you. We're not
forcing you to sell it. We'll just take it to our website. Give us a call when
you want to be selling our products."
