Um, w00t I guess.
Great for kids, but that sort of goes against Nintendo's "DS attracts an older audience" theory.

Nobody IIRC said this was coming to America. Even if it does, I don't see it as being that different from "Yourself Fitness" being on X-Box and PS2.

A translator would be awesome, but that's all I'm really interested in. I doubt they'll come over, and I wouldn't port it if they didn't. It's not good like Elektroplankton is good for me (though I hope to God that comes out here).

I want a DS program that has all the little maps you'd get on McDonald's trays. You know, lead Hamburgler to the hamburger and such. That'd be the best thing ever and would sell seven hundred billion units.
People would wise from their gwaves just to get this.

Genius. Downloadable DS games at various retail establishments. Themed to the providing business, of course.
Can you say Ronald McDonald Arena? I call Grimace!

I don't see this as affecting Nintendo's "DS for an older audience strategy" any more than Yoshi, Kirby, and Super Princess Peach affect it. Anyway, the dictionary "game" looks pretty cool, I might consider it if these were released in North America.

Actually looking at all the Japanese games Nintnendo has announced I think only NOA is going for an older audience. NCL has given no indication of focusing on an older audience and have only announced family-friendly games.
These applications are kind of neat I guess but I think Nintendo needs to get their priorities straight. The DS lineup is quite weak so why waste time and effort working on non-game applications? If they want to goof around with dictionaries and stuff that's fine but they should give us some more worthwhile DS games first.

Ian, you've been constantly bashing the DS lineup...I must admit, the games out right now are quite weak, but you have to consider all the phenomenal games that are still to come.

Wario Ware Touched, Super Mario 64 DS, Zoo Keeper, Project Rub (Feel the Magic), Polarium etc are NOT weak. Bah, i'm wasting my breath, but i'm damn sick of people attacking the current DS games lineup.

Wario Ware Touched, Super Mario 64 DS, Project Rub and Polarium may be fine games.* Few are arguing against that. But they still make for a weak launch. They're games I'd check out if I had a DS, not games I'd buy a DS to play. One "killer app" would give me a reason to actually buy one of those things, and then I'd be happy spending money on a DS.
*I excluded Zoo Keeper because you can find similar games for free.

Yes. My thoughts exactly. That's a great way to put it. The current DS lineup consists of games I would rent or pick up used if I had a DS. The DS has some good B titles but I only buy a system for A titles.
