The front's not too bad. I don't really see why adminstrative functions like start and select have to be so close to the other stick though. Why not put a d-pad there instead? I don't care for the button arrangement on the Cube controller and this seems to be going in a similar direction so obviously I'm not too keen on it. However this arrangement is much more logical than the Cube setup. I prefer a six button Saturn/N64 style layout but this is better than the Cube layout. I like how the analog sticks click. Both the PS2 and Xbox can do that and it just seems natural to me to allow the same type of functionality.
I don't really like the back triggers though. I really don't want to play with all of my fingers at once. Of course it's up to game designers to not make things too confusing but any game that would require my different fingers to do different things would probably result in a lot of mispressed buttons. Right now the worst thing we do is move our thumb to the wrong button. With this we have to worry about using the wrong finger. I do think the "grip" idea however is pretty neat. I'll give you full credit for thinking out of the box about how to touch in a game. I like the cartridge slot idea too. The GBA has benefited from special cartridges and this would allow us to have that flexibility without having to use a portable for the controller.

Jesus christ....Honestly I was shocked when I looked at the back. No offense, but like Ian said; it would be: 1. unconfortable 2. unneeded.
Here's my design for opinion's sake (not finalized/rough copy); it focus's on gyration by seperating the control. Disregard the button layout...the controller shape is the most important quality. I'd like to here what you think of it.

By judging by those pics, I don't like the new control layout. I don't like the front nor the back. I like GC controller much better. Its more neater & oragnized and ready to go. This revoulution controller just plain sucks. The design to the buttons sucks. Just my opinion.

I'm flattered that you thought that my controller was the real revolution controller, but it isn't. Even if Nintendo did follow something similar to what I was thinking, it would be 1000 times better designed.
