Have a look at the list, which includes games which have been in America for months!

In preperation for the upcoming oh-so-close Nintendo DS launch, Nintendo Australia has supplied their current release schedule.  Obviously, this will probably pretty dull if you don't live in Australia, but if you do then at least you'll know what will be coming out in Australia for the next five or so months.  As usual, all dates are subject to change at any time.  Righto, let's get started:

Mr. Driller in MAY? Hate you, Namco. ;___; And wow, is Australia the first to get Rayman DS or something? Also, anybody got any idea WHY EA isn't releasing a PAL version of NBA Street 3 for GameCube?

Well, you'll just have to wait an extra day before you can sink your teeth into Ping Pals.  Ha ha.

And be happy we're getting Mr. Driller at all - I thought we were going to miss out again, like we did when Europe got Mr. Driller 2.  Hopefully this means that the version we get will have a translated Dristone Mode and Single Card Multiplayer like the Japanese version I got does.

O_o wow, I didnt knew Nintendo was so late with their releases... look at the bright side, you are at least getting it in your language, the only spanish Ive seen in a GC game is in RE4, and you are suppose to not understand it... while there's spanish versions of Halo 2.

What a strange, strange list. Aussies are getting Splinter Cell right around the American release date, but Four Swords is STILL missing in Action? What gives? Lazy/scared publishers who think they won't get good return investments?

I guess this begs for one of my patented dumb questions: Do they tailor-publish these games for the Aussies, or just ship the Euro-Pal versions and say "Come and get it! All 10 copies anyway..."? What's there to localize? English is English is English. It shouldn't matter, if its Canada, England, USA, Or Australia/New Zealand.

Are they not going to understand if say someone uses the word "Band-aid"? Must they input "Plaster?" Instead of Judge, A Barrister? (Imagine Final Fantasy Tatics Advance: Here comes the Barrister!)

Oh well, better late than never....

The games are European. There's the heath and safety screen at the start which is European, and the language options which are European. A lot of the time numbers aren't even converted to the metric system.

Even if it got bad reviews, I still want it, since I enjoyed Zoids on cube.

Australia is clearly dominated by the PS2 and X-BOX.  Most EB stores or any video-game store usually hide all the gamecube games in a small dark corner or behind a poll and some stores have even stopped selling gamecube games all together.

Although Nintendo has virtually been a non-existant force with its Gamecube in australia for some time now, I did notice PULSE has a huge NINTENDO DS advertisment across their main window on the corner of bourke and elizabeth st in Melbourne today.  It seems in australia the only nintendo products that sell well are handhelds and the only products the shops actually want to display.

I've noticed this over here as well. New Zealand is completely neglected by Nintendo, but the DS is getting a lot of exposure in windows normally dominated by awesome games such as Blood Rayne, Driv3r and Fable. Maybe Nintendo really are right and their market will expand dramatically.

What the hell.  You guys get Polarium on March 24th?  EBGames.com has it listed as April 18th for a US release.  PGC's release schedule still has it as May 31st.  It doesn't even show up on Gamestop.com.  I am sad.

It's going to be $20-$30 cheaper than the average DS game too, according to DVDCrave. We win! Oh.. every other game..

EB adelaide has put DS straight across from the counter, proberly the most prime place
yet GBA is down the back, and Gamecube is between DS and GBA
In my view EB and Toy r us are proberly the biggest supporters of gamecube, they always get alot of stock (10+ of each game) and on release date, even if there 17year old employee's act like they secretly work for ign.
