Link that will cause much anger.

It looks like after buying exclusive rights to the NFL, Arena football league, and ESPN EA is planning to buy the exclusive rights to NCAA football thus completely killing off ANY competition whatsoever for football games. Look for a lots of CFL games to pop up I guess.

I've been quite vocal of EA and how they're a complete poison to the industry so I'll just leave it at that.

I'm more concerned about the news that EA is going to try and expand its share of Ubisoft, possibly absorbing one of its competitors.

But seriously, I really think we are reaching a point where the industry is going to face a backlash from consumers, because all of this consolidation and along with it likely price hikes will cause people to abandon gaming.

I'm guessing they'll absorb every soccer league out there now to seize the European and Japanese sports markets. Then they'll take Mexico.

Welcome to EArth.

EA is THIS close to gaining a voting majority of Ubisoft, not long until the assimilation is complete. I guess some of you might care because they actually buy Ubisoft's offerings... The only thing I recently bought from them was BG&E for a tenner (they can use all the customer rejection systems they want as long as they sell their games for a tenner).

It's almost ironic that EA will be the one saying, "Ha ha! Victory is mine!"
I suspect that buying the rights to cricket, rugby and lacrosse are next on EA's to do list.

Banning a symbol? What a load of crap. It's just a symbol. It's meaning is based solely on the meaning the user wishes to convey. And although you shouldn't be allowed to DO what the Nazis did but you can form whatever opinion of them you wish. If one wishes to associate himself with the Nazi party they should be allowed to. They just have to deal with not being very well liked. You can't do whatever you want because it can hurt others but you can say or think whatever you want. Otherwise we're all just slaves.

Look at it this way, you do your job, you do it well, people apreceate it, suddenly this other guy offers to do your job for half the price, and thats the only thing it uses to promote itself, and takes money out of your pocket.

Take Two devaluating the market caused EA to scoop up the exclusives. Had Take Two released their game at 49.99 this wouldnt have happend.

In that case EA could drop their price. It's much more reasonable to compete instead of buying out the market and trying to eliminate the concept of capitalism.
