Â¥Simultaneous sale software is undecided.
Â¥The form of a character of the logo is feeling that the form of a character is added the game cube to NINTENDO DS and divided by two.
Â¥Media are 8cm in both sides disks of 5.4GB or less that entered the husk.
Â¥The best eyeball is connected with NINTENDO 21 in the vicinity by the system that uses the IEEE protocol, various information is exchanged, and it is said that it will influence it each other. "Home game function (temporary)"
Â¥"Home game function" is free. It interferes when the AC adaptor is connected, and there is "NINTENDO 21" or "NINTENDO home" to be near and new information is added to the storage medium in the main body without permission. The saving data is basically memorized in the main body when playing a game. The saving data also influences with other NINTENDO 21 each other.
Â¥The machine that is called "NINTENDO home" using the PHS line is supported and the installation, fighting of a portable game machine, and the home game function are supported to each place. Latest information from Nintendo etc. are sent.
Â¥Lease line (?) is purchased from the PHS company.
Â¥"NINTENDO home" jointly develops with Kyocera.
Â¥"Rub" is possible though the controller is arrangement that looks like the game cube. It is said that it comes to be able to operate the game by rubbing button and controller's each place. Moreover, one slot is installed in the controller.
Â¥For the controller, the whole is Can'o type. Rubbing is good also in the button and the grip.
Â¥Equipped with digital terminal(Exclusive use D terminal cable or the DVI cable compatible with the stereo cable etc. of past Nintendo is used. As for this cable, shape is different from a current stereo cable. Terminal D cable of the game cube cannot be used. )

I have no idea what that means.  All I can gather is a UMD-like disc and a controller that has the analog sticks in very odd places and the Cube button layout.  There's also a suggstion of a hard drive with the "The saving data is basically memorized in the main body when playing a game." line.  I also think that "NINTENDO home" might be an online service of some type.

I think we need a much better translation.

the only things that make since to me are that Nintendo has been releasing consoles for about 21 years and the part about rubbing the buttons (maybe each button has mouse wheel functions or touch pad functions).

I'm curious about the 'squiggles' on the outside of each handle on the controller.  Looks like it could be grips, but I think it's more than that, especially since there's an arrow with explanation pointing at it.

I was curious about the roughness of the doodle and why a camera stick similar to the Cube's was placed above the face buttons rather than towards the inside and below at a confortable position like the GameCube's second analog stick.

I don't know what sort of website that is but I think it's probably crap. 5.4GB discs and an extremely poor sketch do not imply that this is solid information. Are you sure this isn't just some kid's blog? They link to a Hotmail address.

The Kyocera comments are interesting and plausable, though unlikely. Kyocera has develoepd some sort of experimental mobile-wireless network in Japan, AFAIK, so an involvment with Nintendo wouldn't be illogical.

EDIT: Opps, my bad.

Better translation

- Name of machine is "Nintendo 21"
- planned for release at end of 2005
- medium is 2-sided 8cm disc, 5.4GB capacity, in a shellcase
- includes "Home Game function" which uses IEEE protocol to locate and communicate with other Nintendo 21s in the vicinity
- "Home Game function" is free, connect the AC adaptor and the machine talks to nearby Nintendo 21s and "Nintendo Home"s (? could be Form instead of Home - katakana is vague). Save data is stored on the main unit and affects other machines over the network.
- "Nintendo Home" machine is like a base station that will be put in many places and uses the PHS network for communication (popular mobile phone network). Will connect to handheld game machines and supports "Home Game function", also sends latest info from Nintendo.
- "Nintendo Home" is being jointly developed with Kyosera.
- controller is like GC controller but "rubbing" is possible - e.g. you can control movement in a game by rubbing the controller/buttons. Also the controller has a slot.
- The whole controller is pressure sensitive. So rubbing can be done with the buttons or via grip.
- Digital outputs included

Oh yeah, and it sounds like massive BS. If that's really Nintendos next home console they're doomed.

stroking two falic objects was not what first came to mind when i thought about a revolution in gaming

how does touch pad technology on the buttons and gripping apply to gaming and how could it simulate the texture of spines on a monster?

Though you always have to beware of rumors, the first rumor seemed very credible especially since the article writer himself had contact with the "anonymous" source when getting the Revolution info, and one time prior to that when getting accurate DS info.  So far I'm treating the first source as most viable.  This source however seems very unviable.  I'd like it if Nintendo reimplemented the memory card slots in the controller and the fact that the controller is similar to the GCN controller makes sense due to the multiple rumors of backwards compatibility we've heard.  But everything else reeks of BS.

Combine touch sensitivit in a controller with a gyroscope type device and it would make for one bad ass controller.   How many people do you see playing mario kart while swinging the controller around frantically?  Gripping the controller harder could give the on screen character a tensness...making it easier to balance on something or what not.  These are all sorts of fun things, but i doubt developers woud make use of them.

"If that's really Nintendos next home console they're doomed."

And since Nintendo is doomed that must be their next console!

A fair bit of this does make sense to a point.  Pretty much anyone can guess at a hard drive for example and be correct and given Nintendo's history of using their own format the medium sounds realistic as well.  The release date of late 2005 is possible too in Japan.  Nintendo plans on releasing their system between the other two.  Since Xbox Next launches this year and PS3 next year then obviously the "Nintendo 21" (what the hell does that mean?) has to launch between.  A late 2005 Japanese launch coincides well with a spring or summer 2006 American launch.

The "rubbing" stuff fits the rumours of touching and feeling.  I don't know how it would work though.  In a way I kind of hope that's real because it sounds so minor that I don't have to worry about the controller not working with old games.  Realistically Nintendo could make their weirdo "feeling" game that no one cares about while third parties can make normal games.

The "Home Game function" sounds like an alternative to online gaming that won't work at all outside of Japan.  So it sounds like it's right up NCL's alley.  This one I'm quite skeptical of.  Nintendo might have been very anti-online this last gen but I think it was more of them trying to downplay the competiti0n who were promoting online as a major feature.  Nintendo didn't want to go online yet but Sony and MS did and much like with the cartridges Nintendo unsuccessfully tried to bury the concept so that they didn't look inferior.  I'm sure that now they do plan on going online.  They want to do it they just didn't want to do it as quickly as the other guys.  The Revolution will be online.  It has to be.  I fully believe Nintendo will go online next gen until they say outright that they don't plan to.

Overall this looks like a pretty lame console design.  But Nintendo hasn't exactly been on the ball lately so there is a chance it could be legit.  Nintendo making a lame console is not entirely unexpected.

(Why is "com-pet-i-tion" censored?  Can't we talk about something other than how perfect Nintendo is on this board anymore?)

Even though i doubt this is true, I think that would be a horrible name for the console. After having a console named Nintendo 64 if they really want to put a number at the end they should at least make it higher than 64.

No way.  No one remembers the Nintendo 64.  That was eons ago.  What the consumer is going to do is go to the store and see the Xbox 2, the PlayStation 3, and the Nintendo 21.  I mean, com'on ... that should be a no-brainer as to which one is better.

Instead of "Nintendo 21" they should call it the "Nintendo 21+" as "you must be 21 or older to use this console".  Much like alcohol the appeal of an "adults only" product will attract huge amounts of teenagers.

i think this is legit. allthough the whole rubbing controller things seems to be a little strange. it might actually be very intuitive and fluid. perhaps games will simply react to how you are holding the controller, and not intentional stroking, or both.

same info on a different site. neat site though might want to check it out even if you read the above allready
