Australian DS Launch Info

Nintendo's new handheld arrives down under next month.

Nintendo Australia Pty. Limited has announced the first official information about the Australian DS launch.  The system will be released on Feb. 24th for $199.95 AUS.  Nintendo will have two first-party launch titles: Super Mario 64 DS and WarioWare Touched!, with Pokemon Dash available soon thereafter.  The rest of the launch lineup will be announced at a later time.


As in North America, the Australian launch of the DS will include the Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt demo with each system.  This bundle is available for a limited time.


Various EB stores have begun placing stacks of pre-order pamphlets on store counters, as well.  Looks like Australia's finally getting into the swing of things.  Here's a look at the pamphlet, courtesy of reader Ryan Ellis:

I love everything right now, I love NAL, I love PGC, I love you all, let's have sex. $200 is an AWESOME price (only like $3 more than what a US DS would cost). NEXT MONTH! NEXT MONTH.

I reported on here about a month ago it was a feb release
no suprise for myself
200 is cheap, esp compared with the $300aus japanese models on ebay without metroid first hunt demo

BATMAN 2? LOL. But yeah, nice to see EB and NAL are going to actually give a crap about the launch. I want one of those pre-order things just for the hell of it Batman 2.
