I played through the first 3 dungeons and I thought for a Zelda game it was
okay at best. I thought there was waaaay too much NPC interaction. Also, alot of the music, as nice as it was, just didn't sound like Zelda music, (though the tracks that did did a great job). It just didn't feel like an old school Zelda game to me... and I guess that's where I'm at fault: I was expecting an ALttP-style game and it turned out to be more of a 2D Wind Waker. Now that's not a bad thing, but I look to my GBA as a place to play the franchises like I did 10-15 years ago. I was hoping for Minnish Cap to be to A Link to the Past as Metroid Zero Mission is to Super Metroid or Megaman Zero is to Megaman X or Aria of Sorrow is to Symphony of the Night, etc... also, it doesn't help that it wasn't developed by Nintendo.
But then again, this is coming from the guy that took 6 years to finally appreciate Ocarina of Time...

I'm sure if I give Minnish cap more time I'll learn to love it... I was just rubbed the wrong way by my first impression of the game. I would still kill for a Nintendo-developed 2D Zelda though... I guess my heart is still stuck in the "Now You're Playing with Power" and the "Play it Loud" days of Nintendo.
