Ok, I Was Wrong (DS Hardware Reaction)
« on: December 26, 2004, 04:48:58 PM »
This is a really, really nice system. It's even nicer looking than the GBA SP and I am super-impressed with the screens, they're beautiful and so bright. I'm not minding using the thumb strap for controlling Mario 64 (except I unattach it from the system). The only thing that dissapoints me is that Wario Ware is the only upcoming (date announced) game I want. They really need to get better games for it, soon. I do think, however, this is one system where later generation games will truly be superior. The next year will be experimental, so that's good. I hope people make an even mix of normal and touch games. Mother 3 will also be great, the Mario DS too. Also FF:CC should be fun. I just pray AC is online, because if it is it will OWN.

This has restored my faith in DS vs. PSP.

Anyway, if this is the wrong place let me know, I'll post it in whatever thread it belongs. I just didn't see a Hardware Reaction thread.

^_^

There were only two things I was worried about with the system...1) that the touch screen would be a little delicate, and 2) that the L/R buttons would be hard to use (due to my big hands)...Both passed the test, and I just feel that the DS is my favorite piece of hardware ever...

I am getting used to the smaller face buttons by using my DS almost exclusive for when I play GBA games, that way I won't have to relearn what I can and can't do in terms of how well I can press buttons instead of one than another.  At first it was a little odd, playing Metroid Zero Mission took a little while to get used to, but now playing Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories is easy and I don't notice much difference.

I wuv the system too! I'm impressed by the screens and how nice the picture looks. The opening video in MP:H suprised me a lot, I was expecting N64 graphics even though they said it would be inbetween that and a cube. The interface with the menus is awsome too. MP:H is pretty fun for a demo(I'm working on getting that hidden trailer in the game). They say to keep an eye on "Jump Superstars", its gonna be like a SSBros. I just hope that wireless extension thingy where it increases online playing range another 500 feet really does come out, then the whole neighbourhood will be playing, hahaha.

I was really surprised when I opened the box for Mario,  Those games are really small, I just keep thinking back to how huge the N64 cartridge was (Compared to the DS version).

I took a picture of the two together just cause it "wowed" me so much.
I tried to stop biting my nails but the d-pad on the DS makes me bite my thumb nail so now I have a new year's revolution.
