Dragon Ball Z - Budokai 3
« on: November 25, 2004, 10:21:33 AM »
Has anyone heard or seen anything on a possible GC release of DBZ - Budokai 3 ?   I know Budokai 2 hasn't even been released on the cube yet, but as far as I'm concerned, they can skip the second installment. I've seen and played the game on a friend's PS2 and I must say the game rocks !  It's no Soul Calibur or Tekken, but it's very good nonetheless, especially if you're a DBZ-fan.

Atari has confirmed a port of the 2nd Budokai to GC.
Source: IGN Cube

If they're going to port the 3rd one, it probably won't happen until at least at year from now.

Did the first Budokai sell on the cube? It was released after the first so it shouldn't have sold very well. It'd be a pretty dumb move to release 2 after 3. The only smart thing would be to mix 2 and 3 together then it'll sell.

Atari are on a quest to make sure they make no profit from their GameCube software. "Duuuuh, let's port 2 to GC when 3's coming out for PS2, we liiiiike mooooney"

Atari would be dumb if they released Budokai 2... That game was unplayable.... Budokai 3 is great.

The GCN version of B2 will have some of the Japanese extras like the alternate costumes for Goku and Piccolo. It will also have twilight versions of some of the levels. There have also been mentions of extra characters. Probably the ones in the Japanese version of B2 like Cooler and Broli. I'm not sure if it will have that fat Saiyan or Kuriza. And of course it will come out at a cheap price of $30.

Get ready to wait a year for the GCN version. Maybe by then they will have finished the game.

The PS2 version is unfinished and they released it early. It pisses me off.

YES!
I'll definitely be buying Budokai 3!
I hope they will include an option on the US or Euro release to have the original Japanese voices.
I think they did that on Budokai 1 for Europe, right?

Hey,
Does anyone know if the UK version of Budokai 2 includes the original Japanese voices?
Because I heard it did but nobody confirmed it.
Thanks!

DBZ Budokai 3 is definatley planned for the GCN, I looked through a Game Crazy release list before, and I made sure to tell the difference.

Though I cant remember the exact date posted on it, its either much later this year, or next year.

Point is, its definatley coming.

Its not worth it, to me at least, the whole series is sort of a mediocre cash-in.

Hey I saw this game on the shelf the other day and it was $79.95 and the PS2 version was $20 and I was like, hey Atari you're alright.
