I think they may be all-Canadian, but Nintendo recently started some new ad campaigns with the slogan "too much fun". Anybody seen them? Are they being played in the U.S.?
I think Nintendo has got the right "attitude" with these commercials, although they're kind of...distasteful.

My girlfriend thinks they're irresponsible, but I found them hilarious. It's interesting to see something controversial from Nintendo, at least...
Both ads play out like public service announcements. In one, a couple is lamenting how their son used to be normal, but then he started hanging out with the wrong crowd, and then, one day, they overheard him talking about
mushrooms. Then the voice-over person tells us about Paper Mario (and Mario Pinball Land, in one version).
The other ad isn't even marketing a specific game or system. In fact I saw more of the NES, Super NES and N64 than I did of the GameCube. A homeless guy with a shopping cart full of Nintendo gear walks around trying to get electricity to play his systems, and tells us how he was an ordinary kid until he became addicted to Nintendo after playing at a friend's house one night.
Yeah, so they're not exactly sending a positive, life-affirming message about Nintendo, but I thought they were pretty funny. I have no idea of their selling power, I think more game footage would be nice, but then again, I really have no idea how to sell stuff.
