Nintendo DS - Trade-In Deals?
« on: October 17, 2004, 10:32:40 PM »
Does anyone know anything about trade-in deals for the DS at places like EBGames and GameStop? I have a boatload of stuff that I'm never gonna use again (like a GB Color and a GBA, for example) and I was hoping that they would bring down the price of a DS a little for me...

Don't count on it. Stores are weak.

Protip:  If you have original Gameboy games that you still like to play, keep your GBA for maxiumum fun and profit.

Agreeing with RABicle here.  The GBA trade-in was because the SP was basically the same thing.  You can always just sell yor old stuff to EB or Gamesop (trade in for store credit) and then use that to buy a DS, but you'll make tons more money selling on ebay.

Always take eBay over stores, that way you probably get a bit more money and the seller doesn't get ripped off.

Well,  GameStop's current trade-in value for a GBA SP is currently $45.  This is the best I have seen, with EB Games taking them for $30.  Take that and put it toward a NDS.  But, if you planned on doing it, I would suggest doing so quickly, as I forsee a jump in GBA trade-ins in anticipation for the NDS, which would in-turn lower its value.  Also, I suspect a possible GBA SP price drop after the NDS's release, which would lower its value further.

Well, I have both a GBA and a GBA SP so I'm not at all attached to the GBA...I figure I won't get much for the GBC but who cares if my GBA SP will play those games anyway?

A standard GBA won't sell for much. If it was the SP you were seling you might get something but nobody wants a GBA. I think you're better off using it as an additional controller for FFCC...
