Funny thing is, Somebody leaked a copy of halo 2 all over the internet today.  I really dont see why.

Edit: Doom and Halflife I can see since it is supposedly something new and ground breaking.  Dont get me wrong Halo 2 is going to be great but people really need to get a life.

Halo 2. That's the little bit you forgot that makes the announcement interesting. This means warez freaks get to play Halo 2 right now. Bungie is going to lose a whole lot of sales to this since people want stuff fast and the official launch is more than 3 weeks off.

I dunno...it's bad, but I think that the bulk of potential Halo 2 consumers will buy it anyway.  Most will never even know about the leak, and even some of those who do may prefer to play the real thing.  I know I would.

Bungie isn't losing anything. 1.5 MILLION PRE-SALES  and counting. It is the biggest video game launch in history.

I heard that those aren't consumer preorders, but STORE preorders...Not quite as impressive if that's true...

Thats the same thing I heard.

The last official (announced by M$) consumer pre-order tally was at 750,000 (this was about a week or so ago)
with a total of 1.5 million copies being ordered in the U.S.

They get lots of sales, yes, but it's unclear how many they lost to this leak. In another memo from the who-didn't-expect-this dept., GTASA was leaked, too.

Yeah I saw it (GTA: SA) on the internet and could have obtained it, but I don't have a PS2 so I didn't bother
