« on: September 16, 2004, 01:31:55 PM »
Pick it up next month, but have your ID ready...it's rated M.

Midway has announced that its first GameCube title in many months, Midway Arcade Treasures 2, has gone gold and is set to be released on October 11th.  The compilation is priced at $20 and is rated M, due to the fact that it includes a number of violent arcade games from the early 90s.  The complete game list:

  • APB™
  • Arch Rivals™
  • Championship Sprint™
  • Cyberball 2072™
  • Gauntlet® 2
  • Hard Drivin’®
  • Kozmik Kroozr’™
  • Mortal Kombat® 3
  • Mortal Kombat® II
  • NARC®
  • Pit Fighter™
  • Primal Rage®
  • Rampage World Tour®
  • Spy Hunter® 2
  • Timber™
  • Total Carnage™
  • Wacko™
  • Wizard of Wor™
  • Xenophobe®
  • Xybots™

The original Mortal Kombat is not included, but it is unlockable in Mortal Kombat: Deception, which will be released on GameCube in early 2005.  For descriptions on each of the games included in Midway Arcade Treasures 2, be sure to check out our preview.

Where's my STUN Runner?  Where's my STUN Runner?  Where's my STUN Runner?  Where's my STUN Runner?

"Hey they're playing the STUN Runner song!"
"I love that song.  It reminds me of STUN Runner."

Seriously though why did they take that game out without any explanation?  I'll probably still buy this because it's still a pretty good collection, Mortal Kombat's greed related absense aside.  I just don't like getting one of the best games cut with no explanation.  So I'll probably buy it used.  That way Midway gets no money from me and it's perfectly legal. HA!
