What Would You Do If This Happened To You!?
« on: October 25, 2013, 02:12:26 PM »
I don't know the source material, but it reminds me of that game that keeps popping up in the sales thread "My sister can't be this cute" or something like that.

But what if this happened to you. You are at home alone, with complete privacy, just finished flipping through Facebook and decide to get down on some of your favorite secret "hentai" online. After you werk one out, you go to close the window, but accidentally click the [Like] button during a small finger spasm while moving the mouse.

What would you do next!? How do you handle this situation?

If you give me an option that tells me not to choose it, you damn well know that's the only one I'm going to choose.

Option A: Dodge and Duck. If confronted by someone, I'd say my account was hacked by Anthony Weiner. Then as we all had a good laugh, I'd ask if they had seen the movie Gravity yet and slowly get the subject changed until they forget why they came to me in the first place and withdraw back to hiding.

I'd just need to be careful for about 2 weeks maybe three. But that time, other things should have come up in people's lives to make them forget this or at least not care too much anymore. Meantime, while waiting it out, I'd do what I could to bury the evidence. So, if that means, liking a whole lot of stuff or creating misdirection of some sort for people, I'd be on it. If I could find something even more embarrassing that someone else had done, I'd link that and try to make my mistake look less severe.

Option B: Create some kind of article talking about all sorts of the dispicable stuff that Hentai porn engages in and how it needs to be fought and all that moral jazz. Maybe have a call to arms of how people need to speak out against it and see it criminalized or come off the web. After completeing this, I'd then state that I was liking this article and trying to get other people to join in the fight. The article is called what it is just to get people's attention and to highlight one of the many terrible things found in Hentai form.

Option C: Just state that I did it for laughs. I thought that people would find it funny but the reaction was totally not what I expected and thinking about it now, I can see why and it isn't as funny as it seemed to me at that time. Guess I needed more sleep and sorry for not thinking about it more.

Option D: Tell people I don't have a little sister and so I was wondering what my life would be like if I had had one. I just thought this was normal behaviour in families. I mean, people married their sisters in history. The bible mentions instances of it also. Plus, Clueless and The Royal Tenenbaums kind of had brother/sister romances although it was because one of the siblings was adopted. No one told me it was something really wrong before. (Sure, it might mean people think you are really stupid but it's better that than the perv you really are. Plus, mentioning that it happened in the Bible has a way of getting people to back off and or change the subject.)

Option E: Confront my sister (and her friends) and then see where it goes....

I already have a very small online presence. I ignore my facebook like it is a myspace page so nothing ever gets posted there except from people who I don't remember ever being friends with wishing me a happy birthday every year.

Those 'like' buttons from 20 different social media sites are annoying. I really dislike social media. I'm a traditional shut-in nerd and don't see this facebook thing as anything more than a fad that has long overstayed its welcome.

We will wind up cursing our older selves and our children. All of these un-thoughtful parents covering the internet with photos of their children in every stage of their lives. Soon we will have no privacy whatsoever. My granddaughter will just google (or bing, or..whatever is popular) any boys of interest and see their entire life chronicled before her eyes. This can easily mean their 'darker' secrets are available for viewing. Little quirks humans have that most people will normally overlook will become deal breaking issues because there is no foundation in the relationship to make them have an inkling to stick with the person to reap long-term relational rewards.

AdBlock Plus removes all those buttons (and the tracking that goes along with them). :D

Nice! Finally got around to getting an adblock program. Very excited to see how it increases browser performance.

What about the option of "paying attention to your facebook privacy settings first"?

Delete post. Each some **** for a while if any. Forget about the whole incident. For Hentai that is pretty tame anyway.

So since there aren't any sensible options, I choose the comedy option.

Facebook is slowly removing a lot of the privacy options. And once something is online, there will always be a risk of it getting shown to the masses either by incompetency or malice from strangers and friends alike.

If this happened to me, and I noticed it right away.  I would delete it from whatever post I made.  Be if Facebook or what not.  Most likely it would be deleted before anyone saw it.

Then To be sure I would go to my likes page and delete any liked pages I might not want to be known.

Finally I would quickly post a few different pictures from other sites, and a status change to bury the possibility that somebody saw it.  Spamming my page will give me excuses later, or just annoy people not to read my page for awhile.

Seriously, this isn't that big of a deal to hide.

Now, if you didn't notice it right away, and you went a day with it being posted, that is different.
