Meat as a dessert?
« on: December 06, 2012, 01:00:59 AM »
Could it be done?

The closest I think I have ever came was a Bacon Maple Bar from VooDoo Donuts.

The reason I ask I just bought some low-salt teriyaki pork jerky. It's so sugary it sparkles in the light.

The wife was watching some reality cooking show (Next Iron Chef or Top Chef, I forget which) and one of the contestants made a moose out of a meat that they described as "sorta like bologna".

The judges did *not* like it.

Well as long as you're just cooking for yourself i don't see anything wrong with experimenting. Are you just going to have the bacon for dessert, or are you thinking of combining it with something else to make it into a more "traditional" dessert?

anyways, you got me interested in the idea as well and i found this page after a quick google search.

You could make a dessert with fish or caviar i bet. Not your traditional meat, but it could work.

Apparently Kentucky Fried Chicken is trying out chocolate chip cookies with the Colonel's 11 secret herbs and spices. Not meat, but savory.

It took you this long to figure that out? They had a sandwich that replaced the bun with fried chicken!

Chicken cookies from Chinatown are a long standing cruel joke in my family. Instead of oil or butter, they are made with chicken fat.

That's why it's a "cruel joke".

Have you actually seen the sandwich though? It's tiny as hell, and they charge like $6 for it. Plus, it actually has fewer calories than Burger King's TenderCrisp sandwich and McDonald's Premium Crispy Chicken Club Sandwich. The Double Down was actually discontinued at my closest KFC due to lack of sales.

They sold a version here with zinger sauce. I finished it because I'm a MAN.

Awful like sweet cookie that has the hint and aftertaste of cold chicken fat.
I recommend trying it. It is a must-taste experience. But it is kinda nasty. Make sure you have juice standing by.
